Call it Pro-Touring, a restomod, or a Mopar muscle car.... Just
don't call it out at a stop light, or you'll regret it when the
Supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat engine roars under the hood!
That's right, this 1970 Plymouth Road Runner is powered by a 707
horsepower Hellcat engine! That engine is mated to a super cool and
fun Brewer's Performance A-833 4-speed manual transmission with the
obligatory Pistol Grip Hurst shifter! That power heads out back to
a 4-link with coilover shocks keeping those 315/35R20 tires firmly
planted to the ground. Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes bring this
beauty to a stop in a hurry, and look great through the black
wheels. QA1 sway bars and K-member keep this car nice and tight and
helped with dropping that Hemi under the hood.
This 1970 Road Runner has been affectionately named "HellRunner."
That moniker can be seen in the grill, and in the cowl of the hood
as you're driving. The car is painted in a Red Hot Red paint that
looks fantastic. The Black stripes and Hellcat logo are painted and
are high gloss.
With a full rotisserie restoration, this Road Runner is ready to
win trophies and drop jaws. The underside is as clean as the rest
of the car, and just look at that trunk! The inner fenders, door
jambs, trunk, underside of the hood, underside of the trunk lid,
and firewall are all painted and polished to a high gloss shine
just like the exterior of the car. This is a no expense spared
build!
The car received a new roof skin, new floors, new trunk pan, new
full quarter panels, and more so that there would be no rust
anywhere on the car. The wheel wells are coated in a rubberized
bedliner material, in a matching red. This means this Mopar muscle
car can be driven and enjoyed without fear of the tires ruining the
inner wheel wells. The floors and subframes are painted and
polished to a high gloss as well. No part of this car was
overlooked.
The interior is a nice blend of modern and original with Corbeau
bucket seats, carbon fiber on the center console, a modern AM/FM
radio in the factory spot, and digital gauges in the stock dash.
The back seat has been upholstered to match the front bucket seats.
Custom rear panels have been installed, and matching door panels
have been installed in the high gloss black painted doors. The
windows are tinted, but not over the top dark. Just enough to keep
the sun from burning up you and your interior. Cold A/C helps keep
that interior comfortable as well.
The trunk is clean and simple with all surfaces painted and
polished and a red-top Optima battery cleanly installed. If you are
looking for a top-notch Pro-Touring Mopar muscle car, give this
Road Runner a good long look. This is a high-end build that is sure
to be the star of any collection!
