Vehicle Description
Introduced as Chevrolet's flagship car in 1958, the Impala has been
produced, with three production breaks, by Chevrolet for more than
50 model years. Among the better selling full-size cars in American
history, the Impala has always represented style and luxury for the
Chevrolet nameplate. For 1962, the second year of the Impala's
third generation, designers focused on sleeker lines and more
luxurious appointments. Added interior and exterior chrome and SS
specific engine-tuned aluminum on the dash and exterior side
moldings became signatures for the car. Engine choices expanded,
including the 409ci V8, prompting the Beach Boys to write the hit
single "409" in 1962. This song became iconic and forever
associated with the 409 Impala.
This 1962 Impala is the result of a correct nut and bolt rotisserie
restoration. During the restoration, significant focus was placed
on using NOS parts when available. All around the exterior, the
correct Roman Red paint gleams against the stunning chrome and
tuned aluminum trim. The lines of the car look fantastic with the
top dropped or with the correct white vinyl top up. Inside the car,
the correct red interior matches the quality of the exterior.
Correctness was obviously a focus in the car's restoration, further
enhanced by the car's correct VIN stamped motor, correct dual
4-barrel carburetors, correct heads and intakes. Options in this
Impala include the SS package, power steering, power brakes,
one-piece bumpers, front and rear bumper guards and dual mirrors.
This '62 409 represents the opportunity to acquire one of the
finest collectable iconic Impalas on the market today.
Unless states otherwise, mileage shown on the odometer is exempt
