The first-year of the second generation Chevelle, the 1968 model year received an all-new body. The second generation Chevelle was revealed to be more sculpted than its predecessor. The car's signature look, which was carried into proceeding model years, included a long hood with a short rear deck profile. This look was enhanced by the car's 3-inch shorter wheelbase than first-gen Chevelles.
