Vehicle Description
Attention true Corvette fans, you're viewing a pristine 1982
Chevrolet Corvette with all the right buzzwords you love: Collector
Edition, numbers-matching V8, high originality, rare options, and
long-term care.
The first thing that strikes you about this coupe is the color.
It's an original factory special that seems to sit somewhere
between metallic shades of silver and gold- like a champagne toast
to the final C3. The official Silver Beige name for this hue is a
unique paint that stands out in public nicely, even when parked
amongst other Corvettes at a car show. It looks exceptional today,
and since we know how well this special edition was looked after,
the finish remains highly original. Plus, there was a recent
ceramic coating to really lock in the shine. The darker graphics on
the lower doors and hood define some of the Corvette's most
dramatic features. The hatchback profile, deep chin spoiler, and
ducktail end cap all add to the distinctive look that was uniquely
Corvette. Besides just looking amazing, this Corvette earns its
Special Edition status by being only one of 6,759 commemorative
cars built before General Motors shut the books on the C3.
The interior is arguably more interesting than the exterior. The
metallic leather seat package that was optional on late-C3s is
taken one step further with a multi-tone fade on the seats and
doors. It's a thoughtful look that complements both the paint and
stripes of the exterior. You can see it all so cleanly today
because this has the right appearance of a low-mileage car, and the
history shows it was under the long-term care of one family until
as recently as 2022. More than just looking nicely preserved,
you'll appreciate how this is loaded with options like power
windows, power locks, a power driver's seat, power mirrors, a
tilt/telescopic steering column, cruise control, electric rear
defrost, and provisions for air conditioning (it will need
servicing to blow cold again.) Tinted glass T-tops mean you can
have an open-air experience with this Corvette, and you can store
the roof much easier thanks to the glass hatchback - the Special
Edition was the only car ever to have the rear open. And the radio
is particularly nice. The Collector Edition option was the most
expensive feature for 1982, but the second priciest was an
AM/FM/cassette stereo with built-in CB. So if this is a factory
piece, it is also one of the rarest features of the year!
The 1982 engine package was a preview of the new C4 Corvette. The
fuel-injected Cross-Fire 350 cubic-inch V8 is a torquey and
powerful upgrade only available on the 1982 C3. It's surprisingly
efficient thanks to a new 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission
with handy overdrive. Just like the rest of this car, this
numbers-matching motor continues to have a respected and original
style. It fires up with an eagerness and loves to hit the road.
These C3s were truly built for driving. That's why you have a fully
independent suspension, power steering, and four-wheel power disc
brakes.
These Collector Edition coupes are always special machines, and so
originality is always cherished. That's why you know this is
something special that you need to get your hands on right now.
