Same owner the last 29 years. He had a body off frame restoration
at a local high end shop: Custom Classics. It feels and functions
as good as it looks!
EXTERIOR: The body fit and finish is outstanding even though it's
been done awhile. Custom Classics does excellent work. It is laser
straight, fits square and flush, has zero rust or damage. It has SS
hood and emblems. The paint is polished like glass. The chrome and
trim shines bright. It rolls on a set of American Racing Daisy
wheels and BFG tires. The black convertible top is in excellent
shape.
INTERIOR: There's more of that resale red inside. Overall very good
upholstery and matching top boot. Door panels were replaced. The
dash area looks like it's very good original condition. It has a
factory console with a Hurst shifter sticking out of it. Some
upgrades include a retro stereo, polished wood wheel, a set of
gauges and tachometer.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's a completely rebuilt 396 motor by Speed
Performance Engineering. Upgraded Edelbrock intake and carb, MSD
ignition system and a set of coated headers. It's dressed up with
matching aluminum valve covers and breathers. The front of the
motor has a chrome alternator, billet pulleys and bracket. Features
include power steering and power brakes. Upgraded four row radiator
keeps it cool. The metal surfaces are painted slick.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted
glass finish red. Inside is perfectly clean metal with a neat
spatter finish paint. It has reproduction mats and weatherstrip. It
includes a spare tire, no jack.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame for a complete
underside restoration. The chassis was sandblasted, made smooth and
painted gloss black. The floors are all rust free metal and painted
with a durable red chip guard. The front end steering and
suspension was completely rebuilt. In back it's upgraded with the
Hotchkiss upper and lower control arms. Great sounding dual exhaust
with Flowmaster mufflers. The fuel system was completely replaced.
Upgraded disc brake conversion in front with stainless caliper
inserts. The lines and hoses were replaced, e-brake is hooked up.
Looking up at the motor it is clean, it has a high torque starter.
It's a Muncie M20 4-speed trans, completely rebuilt by Roadmaster
Transmission. The 12 bolt rear end was also rebuilt by Roadmaster.
It has 3.55 posi Richmond gears.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and repaired the reverse lights,
lubed speedo cable, calibrated the speedometer, gave it a front end
alignment and replaced the front tires.
This is one of those cars you will enjoy driving. It runs so good,
shifts so easy, sounds so nice. It will get the compliments
anywhere it goes, it would even stand tall at any show. It's the
whole package!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
