Vehicle Description
The concept car Toyota AXV-II debuted in near production form in
1988 and would be sold mainstream in Japan. Production numbers were
15,941 that were built over the course of five years between 1990
and 1995. The butterfly doors are what it is famous for as well as
its glass roof canopy, which makes you feel like you are in a fish
bowl. The 1.5 liter petrol engine produced a pretty solid 105 HP
for its small 2,000Lb frame. The car is agile, comfortable and goes
down the road very nice and smooth. Another noteworthy feature is
the projector style headlamps which was one of the first cars to
feature this. The Sera featured here today has a clean Michigan
title with matching VIN# as the car was imported in 2021 after the
25 year eligibility. This little rig starts, idles and goes down
the road nice and smooth with no weird noises or smells. In
addition the brakes and steering are nice and tight. This would
make a great little car to not only commute in but to take to your
local car shows as there will probably not be another one around.
The car is over thrity years old so there is some cosmetic
blemishes that are to be expected like scratches and dings and a
couple small dents. The car is free from any rust rot or corrosion
with the underside looking very nice compared to some other JDM
cars I have seen.
