The 2009 Pontiac Solstice coupe has been a classic from day one.
Collectors are always searching for original cars with low mileage
that has both hard and soft targa tops. In other words: this
example will always be in demand.
These cars are RARE. Pontiac produced less than 1,300 Solstice
coupes total... not this year, but in TOTAL. This means you can buy
a modern machine with better rarity than a classic Hemi Mopar. This
instant classic status is why this example has been under the same
owner's care for 13 years. But more than its sustained value
through exclusivity, the Solstice coupe is an attractive vehicle
because it represents the pinnacle of Pontiac's reputation for
thoughtful sports cars. Aiming to be a lighter and more nimble
companion to the Corvette, the Solstice has all the excellent
performance design cues we all love, including the long hood and
flared fenders. Plus, Pontiac was doing a great job styling the
twin grille that was dangerously BMW-like, and the coupe's fastback
profile that arguably looks better than the C6 'Vette. As a
terrific option, this one comes with both tops. This means you can
have a cool seamless appearance when you want a coupe, or you can
install the rare folding fabric targa roof to carry weather
protection and weekend bags in the trunk. All of this is straight
from the factory, just like glossy black paint and the shining
18-inch alloy wheels that still look exceptionally radiant and
clean today.
The interior has a clean look of reasonable care and less use. We
especially like the detailed contrast stitching of the two-tone
seats. These supportive and supple leather sport seats highlight a
cockpit that's built around the driver. The three-spoke sports
steering wheel has all the modern controls you could want. Beyond
that is a handsome set of analog gauges that light up red when you
turn the key. This has all the right features, including power
windows, power locks, keyless entry, dual airbags, cruise control,
a tilt steering column, distinct wood-like dash trim, and a
powerful AM/FM/CD/XM stereo with auxiliary input. And the
cold-blowing air conditioning is terrific for a sunny day drive
with the targa top out.
Under the hood is the correct 2.4-liter fuel-injected motor. It has
the clean look of an unmodified and properly maintained example of
the rare Pontiac. This peppy and powerful DOHC motor was chosen to
answer those who thought the Corvette needed to ditch old pushrod
technology. In this lightweight setup, the Solstice delivers the
performance you'd expect in a Japanese or European import but
wrapped in American styling. This sporty spirit is felt every time
you hit the open road. The five-speed automatic with overdrive
always seems to be in the right gear, and the fully independent
suspension loves every corner. Add in great anytime features such
as power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, and this is an
unbeatable driving package.
Complete with the owner's manual packet. This Solstice is a blast
to drive today and a great classic to have for tomorrow. Pricing
likely doesn't get lower on a desirable and rare coupe with
suitable options like this one. Call now!
