When 1927 rolled around, Henry Ford had successfully perfected his
assembly line. Due to this the Model T is often regarded as the
first affordable vehicle option allowing the middle class to
finally have a chance at reliable and easily maintained
transportation. With that large success he obviously wanted to
follow it up and did so with the Model A. Previously Ford had gone
to the next letter of the alphabet when naming his cars but this
time he decided that it was such a departure from the previous
design so he started it all over with the "A". This line proved to
be just as successful with 2 million being sold by July 1929. The
Model A name would leave in 1932 when they would be fully
redesigned once again. Various body styles were produced like the
Victoria you see here. This car has been fully restored and it was
a very nicely done restoration. It has been kept mostly stock
throughout. The all steel body is in excellent condition and it is
painted a two tone Beige and Brown paired with Black fenders. It
also has the light Beige cloth top which looks great and we do not
have documentation but suspect it is the original. The chrome front
headlights (with headlight bar) are working properly as are the
cowl lights. It also has its original style nicely chromed radiator
shell with a stone guard. The double bar stacked bumpers are
mounted correctly in front/rear. All of the glass is in good
condition and it has the original style pop out windshield. It has
a rear mounted spare with a Ford spare cover and its original Red
spoke wheels which are all wrapped with wide white wall tires.
Under the 4 piece louvered hood is the original 201 CID (3.3 L)
L-head I4 that runs great. It was professional rebuilt from top to
bottom less than 500 miles ago with around $8,000 being spent in
the process. It has a 3 speed that shifts smoothly with no
problems. The brake and suspension system is all the stock stuff
but has been gone through and works properly.
The interior is the stock Brown cloth and is in very good
condition. Everything is the stock style with no major
modifications. It even has the original pull down shades on all the
windows. The dash is all nicely painted and fitted with its stock
gauge cluster but also now has an oil pressure gauge underneath as
well. From the original style pedals to the original steering wheel
it is all there.
There are a lot of Model A collectors out there and this one is
absolutely gorgeous. The restoration was very well done resulting
in a Victoria that runs and looks great.
At this level of restoration this car is a bargain at
$31,500.00!
