1980 El Camino SS - Tribute. This beautifully kept El Camino was bought new in Newton NC at Carriage House Chevrolet, to a Mr. Joseph Holland who lived in Hickory NC (just 60 miles or so from where it is now in Asheville, NC). From the condition of this car it spent its whole life in Wester North Carolina, was garage kept and well maintained. The original 305 was replaced with a 350 that was bored 30" over. The past owner had the motor rebuilt to be both street-able and very powerful. He told me it is pushing 375 HP at the rear wheels. It sure feels it when you drive it. I bought the truck with a bad transmission, so I had that rebuilt at a local transmission shop here in town. It goes through the gears great. With an Edelbrock carb, headers and a Weiand intake make throttle response instant. She moves like a scalded dog.
The body and paint on the truck is near perfect. I've been underneath and the truck is completely solid, with almost no traces of rust ever. You won't find another El Camino with a body this solid. The odometer reads just over 96,000 miles which I believe to be actual. The interior is in very nice shape. There is a dash cap on the dash so it is more than likely cracked under the cap. The carpet looks like it has been replaced. I installed a new set of American Racing Torque Thrusters wearing 15" Cooper Cobras. The A/C blows cold.
