Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is proud to offer to you today this 1967 Ford
Mustang Convertible! This Mustang comes to us today with the most
desirable and iconic color combination available on a first gen
convertible - Candy Apple Red with a White top, just the way it was
born. The paint is a good driver-quality respray in original color
and the top is bright white and looks almost new. The front of the
car features an eggcrate grill with a bright trim border and a
running "pony in corral" at it's center. The grill is flanked by
bucketed headlights and topped with FORD lettering at the front of
the hood. Beneath the grill is a gleaming front bumper. Looking
down the sides you'll notice a fair number of bright elements that
stand out from the red body; bright window trim, 289 badge with
running pony and Mustang lettering on the fenders, chrome square
side mirror on the drivers side, chrome door handles, and chrome
rocker covers. Adding just a little more sporty flavor are twin
side scoops on each side, a one-year only look. The wheels are
adorned with wire-wheel hubcaps with faux knock-offs, all wrapped
in Goodyear S4S tires. Around back is a bumper as bright as the
front, concave rear tail lights, reverse lights with chrome
surrounds, MUSTANG lettering on the trunk lip, and a bright gas cap
with a running pony on a red, white and blue background at it's
center. There is a single exhaust exiting on the rear of the
passenger side that has a nice little rumble to it. Under the hood
is a 289 V-8 with a 2-barrel carburetor mated to a 3-speed C-4
automatic transmission - just as it was originally built. The
engine bay is clean, organized and stock in appearance. The block,
heads, valve covers, water pump, and air cleaner are all painted
Ford Blue. The hoses, plug wires, and belts all look newer and in
good condition. Other items of note under the hood include power
steering, power brakes (disc/drum), cast exhaust manifolds, and a
FOMOCO washer fluid bag. Open the driver's door to find an OEM
style interior done in red. Under-dash courtesy lights illuminate
the red vinyl bucket seats. The seats have a little patina and a
1"split on a seam of the driver seat, but they are in generally
good condition and quite comfortable. The door panels are in good
condition with an interior mirror control on the drivers side, a
white accent strip, and a small tear on the passenger-side armrest.
The padded vinyl dash is crack-free and in very good condition. It
houses working gauges for temp.,alt., and gas as well as the
speedometer. The oil pressure gauge seems to be inoperable. The
climate controls are on the left side of the dash and they work as
they should with hot heat and a strong fan. The 2-speed wiper
controls are on the dash and there is also a working AM Ford
factory radio. The switch to operate the power top is on the dash
as well, and the top works quickly and smoothly - just as it
should. The driver is treated to an original 3-spoke steering wheel
with working horn and red, white, and blue running pony center cap.
The shifter for the automatic transmission is on the floor betweeen
the front seats. Red hook loop carpet covers the floors and is
topped with red vinyl floormats in the front and back with white
stripes and pony logos on them. The rear seat is in good condition
and is flanked by padded vinyl rear side panels. Back in the trunk
you'll find a grey vinyl mat, full spare, and a red boot cover for
when the top is down. To top it all off, this Mustang has only
52,355 actual miles on the odometer and per it's title! There's
just something special about a red white 1st gen Mustang
convertible that makes it an icon of 60's Americana. You can feel
the nostalgia as you cruise this Candy Apple beauty around with the
top down. This Mustang is ready to hop in and hit the road to
anywhere you want to go!
