This is an extended cab pickup with a fuel-injected motor,
versatile five-speed, and loaded with the best features (including
A/C). So this 1999 Ford Ranger XLT gives you a classic presentation
with a ton of work-ready attitude, and it's all offered for a value
price.
It's hard to come by a true classic pickup built for work and play,
but this one captures the attitude perfectly. It has that right
look of a well-respected style with good body lines, clean lights,
and the premium XLT's bright chrome bumpers and grille combo. And a
full bedliner is always handy. The Harvest Gold Metallic paint
appears to be the factory application. It has matured in the last
quarter-century, but we kind of like the touches of fade and use
that tell its history was more about being respected than restored.
We also love that this seemed to check plenty of option boxes to be
a premium pickup. After all, service vehicles were unlikely to get
15-inch alloys on the curvy stepside bed.
The interior is stock, clean, and loaded. It starts with the
factory seating that has the cool checkered cloth. You have
high-back bucket-like comfort for two, and the center gives you the
option of a center seat or an armrest console. The extended cab
means you have extra space to use the occasional jump seats and a
nice place to have some added secure storage. Dual airbags, cup
holders, and cold-blowing air conditioning make this clean interior
even more inviting. And the stereo has even been upgraded to an
AM/FM unit with USB and Bluetooth.
The engine bay has the same clean presentation as the rest of this
pickup. It makes this classic truck look like a proper modern
machine, and it feels that way thanks to a 2.5-liter motor with
factory fuel injection. It's a hardy motor, and we even have a
receipt for over $1200 for recent timing work. You have full
control over the motor thanks to the five-speed manual
transmission. And while it's unknown if the odometer represents the
full actual mileage, the solid feel of this well-respected truck
rides like a low mileage machine. It's a nice all-around driver
with power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
There is just something special about the way a stepside Ranger of
this era combines the right usefulness and size with some extra
flair added in. That makes for a great package offered at a great
price. Call today!!!
