Vehicle Description
Concours Gold Certificate at 2018 Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals.
978/1,000 points! This is one of the nicest restorations I've seen.
Documented with a build sheet, it was restored just as it was born.
Very desirable SS 454 with M-22 4-speed, cowl induction, bucket
seats and gauges.
EXTERIOR: Better than new. They weren't this slick on the assembly
line. The metal is laser straight, no rust, no damage. The gaps are
precise all around. The doors shut like new even with the windows
rolled up. It has a cowl induction hood with functional flapper.
The unique color is beautiful. The metal flake is laid out evenly,
the finish is polished like glass. The stripes are painted on
correctly. Every piece of chrome, stainless, were replaced with
NOS, no reproduction. The original bumpers were show chromed. The
vinyl top is new. The glass is exceptionally clear. Reproduction
Wide Oval tires on correctly restored wheels.
INTERIOR: It is pristine in here. Of course the carpet, upholstery,
door panels and headliner are all new. The details and how well
everything fits is what puts it over the top. The dash area is
spotless, the bezels and vents sparkle. The gauges, knobs, heater
controls, ashtray look brand new. It has optional factory gauges
and 8-track radio. If you were to crawl up under the dash it looks
brand new too. The console is perfect and it has correct Muncie
shifter and black knob. The GM seatbelts are like new. Take your
time and look closely, it is impressive.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Every component was restored, rebuilt and
detailed to factory new. The correct dated 454 motor has matching
vin stamped on the pad. It has all the correct components- valve
covers, manifolds, carburetor, dated plug wires etc. It also has
complete cowl induction air cleaner assembly including heat riser
tube. The hoses and clamps are correct. All the painted finishes
are pristine. The power brake booster is cadmium plated. Right down
to the clips, bolts and screws it is spotless. Very fresh, it
doesn't even look like it's been started.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Looks like it was just opened for the first
time. The metal is pristine and has a very neatly applied spatter
finish. There is no overspray. The spare is a restored matching
wheel with a reproduction tire. The jack assembly looks brand new.
The latch, weatherstrip, decals, wiring were replaced.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and the bottom of this car is
restored and detailed like it's new. Really, look at the pictures
it is spotless. Every component was rebuilt. The steering,
suspension, brakes are new. It has disc in front, e-brake assembly
is new looking. You could eat off the bottom of the motor. The
trans is the very desirable M-22 4-speed rock crusher. Original
3.36 posi rear. It has correct type exhaust with resonators and cow
bell tips. The fuel system was replaced. Right down to the clips
and screws it is pristine.
This is among the highest detailed car's I've seen. Fresh, fresh,
fresh looking! We can find you really nice cars, but the elite best
of the best only comes around once in awhile. Don't miss out.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
