1/16/1968 amp; first sold on 1/23/1968 at Johnnie Harper Motors,
Inc of Wheatridge, CO.As the GT faded from existence because of
meager sales, 1969 was the final year for the Mustang GT and very
few were sold making the 1968 GT Mustang one of the rarest of all
Mustangs, let alone in convertible form. This particular example
was built at San Jose, CA with a DSO of Denver, CO where is was
originally sold at 'Johnnie Harper Motors' of Wheatridge, CO and
which consequently lived all of its life in a dry garage in
Colorado with long time family owners. The car has been beautifully
kept and maintained and still retains its original 'Acapulco Blue'
exterior color paint with GT White 'C' Stripes, original 'Light
Blue amp; Dark Blue' Vinyl Standard Bucket Seats and GT Equipment
Group options of original Styled steel wheels with GT Wheel Covers,
dual exhausts correctly mounted with quad exhaust tips, Pop-open GT
gas cap, Heavy-Duty suspension, air conditioning, fog lights, power
disc brakes, power steering, AM radio/cassette amp; 3.00 Standard
Axle Ratio. Obviously a rare and garaged example that was never
raced or abused with no signs of any accidents or rust and boasting
its original red oxide floors. Please note that the car will be
sold with its 'Deluxe Marti Report' to substantiate all its rare
options and originality. This particular example must be seen and
driven to be fully appreciated - a seriously striking example which
turns heads wherever she goes! The original 390 'S' Code engine is
extremely strong and ridiculously responsive with excellent oil
pressure and no noticeable oil leaks and which sounds absolutely
magnificent, the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and
the engine temperature always remains cool. The car's original
factory 'Acapulco Blue' color is still of a very good quality with
only minor imperfections noticeable upon close inspection. The
interior is all original and in absolutely exceptional shape for
its age with only a couple of very minor tears in the vinyl
seats. With the legendary and considerably more expensive 428 Cobra
Jet 335HP 'R' Code engine rated at only 15 HP more than the 390 'S'
Code 335HP engine, these 390 'S' code cars are true muscle car
sleepers that can only gain considerably in value over the years.
This is an increasingly collectible and extremely rare and
desirable 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2 Door Convertible with its rare
original 'S' Code 390 4 barrel V8 engine fully loaded with very
rare options in turn-key ready daily appreciating and daily
head-turning condition of an all time classic America muscle car
