Vehicle Description
Chassis No. 2FAGP9CWXMH200146
Continuing the legacy of the famed GT40, the new for 2017 Ford GT
was also first designed for racing and then later adapted into a
street car. Crucially, this model would help the brand re-establish
itself in competitive racing with a double-podium finish at the
2016 24 Hours of Le Mans, 50 years to the day after the original
GT40 first won the world's greatest endurance race. Developed by a
small but carefully selected team of engineers, the GT was designed
in total secrecy hidden deep within the Ford Product Development
Center where they would deliver a highly advanced carbon fiber
monocoque chassis featuring advanced aerodynamics.
Having proven the race-worthiness of their new flagship model
before a road-going example had entered production, the new Ford GT
received an avalanche of demand resulting in the infamous
application process which required interested parties to provide a
taped interview and answer a series of questions to be considered.
After reportedly receiving nearly 6,500 applications, only 1,350
fortunate applicants were contacted by the Ford Concierge Service
to begin the highly unique process of speccing out their new
vehicle. This incredibly personalized buying experience was
completed with a specialized hand-over process where a Ford
Concierge Service member walked the buyer through the systems after
ensuring that the vehicle was ready for delivery.
Featuring a highly advanced aerodynamic exterior, the Ford GT
utilizes functional design elements that not only look incredible,
but also serve a valuable purpose to the vehicle's performance.
Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter EcoBoost V6 initially
unveiled with 647 horsepower, Ford would improve the GT with the
2020 model year now offering 660 horsepower. In addition to
increased output, these upgraded models feature a broader torque
band and revised engine calibration plus mechanical upgrades which
include gallery-cooled pistons and high-energy ignition coils along
with a titanium exhaust from Akrapovic, now fitted as standard.
A single-family-owned example, this 2021 Ford GT was ordered by the
late Judge Joe DiLoreto, who was one of the fortunate customers to
have their application selected for this highly desirable Le Mans
car for the street. It is finished in a Frozen White exterior with
optional Lightning Blue Overtop Stripes and features 20-inch
one-piece forged-aluminum wheels finished in Silver with titanium
lug nuts and Orange brake calipers, along with the optional matte
carbon fiber exterior package. Sporting the Light Speed interior
selection, the carbon fiber bucket seats are trimmed with Ebony
leather and Blue Alcantara with additional Alcantara accents
throughout, making for a unique interior environment.
Displaying just 18 miles at the time of cataloging, this example is
offered in excellent, as-new condition and is still protected by
the original factory plastic on the carbon fiber door sills in
addition to the original seat and steering wheel covers. Also
included is the original Ford Performance tool pouch complete with
an owner's manual and tire inflator still in the factory protective
wrappings in addition to the factory-provided battery tender. With
production of the highly collectible Ford GT ending late last year,
as-new examples such as this seldom come to market but afford the
dedicated collector the unrepeatable opportunity of acquiring a
hypercar in its purest, most exceptional form.
