Vehicle Description
1955 White Ford Thunderbird
Why This Car Is Special
A first-year 1955 Ford Thunderbird remains one of the most
collectable '50s cars, and it's easy to understand why. The one we
have at Skyway Classics has the V8 engine, the great color combo of
white exterior, black convertible top, and a black and white
interior is very desirable.
Throw in the wire wheels and V8 power and you have one slick
restored T-Bird!

Mechanical
This T-Bird has had a complete restoration on it including under
the hood. It had the P code 292 cubic inch V8 engine with 193
horsepower from the factory and has most other parts that looks
stock.
It has a factory cast iron intake, four-barrel carb, Thunderbird's
special valve covers, and what appears to be all other factory
engine components, with the addition of a chrome open element air
cleaner.
This motor exhales out of the cast iron exhaust headers into the
dual exhaust and the V8 is backed with the automatic transmission
with chrome shifter and underneath is as clean, painted, and
detailed as up above. It runs and drives exceptionally well.
Interior
The brand new black and white interior consisting of the white
bench seat and matching door panels was re-upholstered and looks
stunning with the dash in black with factory gauges, radio, and
controls, black/polished steering wheel, black seat belts, and the
chrome floor shifter.
The restored interior has the look that it did coming right out of
the showroom back in 1955.
Exterior
There are no other 1955 Thunderbirds that are more desirable than
this white over black T-Bird. The chrome really sets the
Thunderbird apart as does the wraparound front bumper, wide mesh
grille, subtle hood scoop, and the twin tailpipes integrated
through the rear bumper guards.
It has chrome spoke wheels and raised white letter Cooper Cobra
Radial GT tires and they look good with either the wheel well
fender flares or without both will give it the final correct look
too.
The trunk is restored and the black convertible top looks great
too.
Conclusion
This a stunning 1955 Ford Thunderbird that we have here at Skyway
Classics is super nice and restored. The Thunderbird was Henry
Ford's response to the Chevrolet Corvette, and no one could have
predicted the success the Thunderbird would have.
The Thunderbird's first year of production literally outsold the
Corvette more than 23 to 1.
This T-Bird is more than just nostalgic, it is iconic and a car
that will evoke envy from everyone who sees you driving it.
