Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is very happy to present
"Ruby Fire", this over the top custom 1980 Pontiac Trans Am SEMA
build! You are correct, this IS a 1978 nose on a 1980 T/A, and YES,
it IS over the top! This build was completely done in house at The
Custom Shop in Flanagan, Illinois specifically for the 2016 SEMA
show. The "Ruby Fire" Trans Am build won the Car and Drivers "Top
10 Cars" at SEMA Day 1 while the T/A was on display at Valspar
Paint's booth, coated in the brand's Prospray paint. Deep-Red in
color, the paint suits the Trans Am's name and shape nicely, and
the custom "Ruby Fire" Ruby Red Quad coat paint with the color
changing airbrushed graphics guarantee that you will get noticed!
There are just so many custom features that it makes a complete
write up on it almost impossible! Under the custom ZR1 window in a
Shaker style hood is a highly modified LS1 with LSX type upgrades,
including custom built ProComp heads, Edie Motorsport pulley system
& a custom-fabbed Fuel Injection set up, all dressed & completely
show ready! The suspension is all RideTech, with the 4 link rear
suspension with coilovers, RideTech tubular control arms and coil
overs up front. Subframe Connectors were added to a completely
reenforced frame to provide more structural rigidy and the 1/8"
Plate steel flooring was added to support the removable 1-piece
Targa roof with electronic motorized release latches. Braking is
supplied by the 14" Wilwood brakes with 6 piston calipers and the
undercarriage is all POR-15 coated and rust proofed. Clayton
Machine Works completed all of the interior trim and accessories,
complimenting the already stunning interior creation, and the
interior is a gorgeous chestnut-color, with TMI seats & door panels
that are the type of quality one should expect in a build of this
caliber. The Sony TV/DVD, the massive Sony subs, the Radical Audio
system w/ 22 speakers & 2,800 watts of power, the Dakota Digital
VHX gauges & even the integrated roll cage system are all custom
built into the cabin, showing the no expense spared build quality!
"Ruby Fire" is a very well know build, has a ton of press and
videos, and was even once owned by an "I'm not allowed say his
name" billionaire, so if an absolutely insane custom build that is
an award magnet is what you are after, then "Ruby Fire" might just
be your girl!
