Only 444 made! This is a genuine K10 GM 4-wheel drive, not a
conversion. 47,210 actual miles survivor that was treated to a
ground up restoration. It was a super clean, unabused rust free
vehicle to begin with. The body was lifted off frame, everything
was cleaned and restored as needed while retaining it's
originality. The story is this one was used as a school bus in
rural Montana. We all know trucks, Broncos and Blazers are very
popular, I think this is cooler than all of them. You want a
Bronco? I'll get you one, what color? When this is gone there won't
be another one! Fun fact: Suburban is the longest continuously used
name plate in history.
EXTERIOR: This is a rare 2 door suburban with "barn doors" in back.
The body is mint, I see no rust or damage. It is dry clean metal,
everything fits real nice. Repainted a sharp Indian Turquoise and
White, it is smooth and glossy. Just like they were back then the
trim is painted white, not chromed. The original glass is in great
shape. The rubber gaskets and window channels were replaced. 4 side
windows slide open to let the fresh air flow. Upfront is an
optional Braden PTO winch in working order with a new cable. There
are optional bumper guards, in back it has optional reverse lights.
The tires were replaced in 2021, the wheels are correctly
painted.
INTERIOR: It is mostly original and it's in great shape. To me the
condition of the interior says a lot about how well this truck was
cared for. Very rare and desirable 3 row seating. A section of the
front seat swings out of the way so people can get the the other
two rows. The seats are reupholstered in correct reproduction
deluxe materials. Seat belts have been added for everyone. The rear
seats are easily removable. It has the original rubber mats on the
floor in very good condition. The inside metal trim still looks
great, it wears some original paint and some was refreshed. The
dash area is mint and includes factory gauges including a
tachometer, vacuum, temp, oil and battery gauges. The glove box
liner is new, the light works. It has an original pouch with
manuals. Under the dash is the PTO handle to engage the winch. The
knobs all match, even the original lighter. The visors are new, the
headliner is very good original.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very clean, like factory new. I believe that's
the original turquoise paint on the firewall. It's all clean metal
with tidy paint. The correct 283 motor was rebuilt and runs as
smooth as silk. It is all stock: manifolds, valve covers, air
cleaner, stickers etc. The carb was professionally rebuilt, the
alternator is new. It features power brakes. The squirters are
hooked up, horns are hooked up, battery is bolted down properly. It
has the correct shroud, radiator and cap.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The rear doors have original latch/hinge
mechanisms in working order. The seats come out if you need to haul
something. The rubber mat is original and in great shape.
UNDERSIDE: It is detailed. The body was lifted from the frame, new
body mounts. Professionally dry ice cleaned to remove the old
undercoat. The floors are rust free smooth metal. It was prepped
and painted semi gloss black. The front end was replaced, steering
damper was replaced. Original Spicer hubs in front. It has NOS
Delco shocks at all 4 corners. The brakes were rebuilt, lines and
hoses replaced. The e-brake works. It has a correct replacement
single exhaust. Looking up at the motor it is clean Chevy Orange,
correct fuel pump and starter. It's a 4-speed trans with a PTO,
both look fresh. The transfer case is clean. U-joints were replaced
throughout. It has a 3.73 posi rear end.
SERVICE: We inspected the vehicle and all we had to do was repair
the reverse lights and tighten the rearview mirror.
This is such a cool vehicle, in the short time it's been here I've
had nothing but positive response. It would be very difficult to
find another one. They are either custom, two wheel drive or in
unrestored condition. This is a great conversation piece at the car
shows and it's fun to drive. The entire family can fit in this
one!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
