Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this 1984 Chevrolet
Camaro. This cool third gen Camaro came to us with many Z/28
elements - front and side lower body valances, 3-piece rear
spoiler, and an LG4 305 V8 engine, but it is badged as an RS -
which was not an option in 84. We believe that it is a
well-optioned base model Camaro that someone in the past put
incorrect emblems on. Whatever the history, what we have here today
is an 84 Camaro with great Z/28 looks, a V-8 powerplant, and cold
A/C! This Camaro has undergone a repaint in green metallic which
presents as good driver quality. The quad headlights in deep
buckets look sporty and were a constant throughout the 3rd gen
years. On the sides you'll notice dual body-colored side mirrors,
black drip rail molding, and RS emblems on the rocker covers.
Around back there is a large hatchback, tri-color tail lights, dual
exhaust tips, and another RS emblem on the right side of the
bumper. The tailgate cargo area is spacious and has a retractable
screen to hide any valuables, but the hydraulic arms that hold the
gate open are in need of replacement. The car's stance is great as
it sits upon split 5-spoke Aluminum US Mags wheels wrapped in Ohtsu
FP7000 tires. Under the hood, the 305 sits in a stock-looking
engine bay with power steering, power brakes (disc/drum), and A/C
components all visible. The original smog equipment is present, but
no longer hooked up. The V-8 is mated to an automatic transmission
with overdrive - a perfect combo for freeway cruisin'. Exhaust
travels from cast manifolds to a single muffler with dual tailpipes
in the rear and it produces quite a nice rumble. Open the driver's
door and the courtesy lights come on to illuminate a very nice,
well kept black interior with black and grey cloth bucket seats in
excellent condition. On the drivers door panel you'll find crank
windows and an internal control for the side mirror. The steering
wheel is wrapped in an aftermarket Chevy wheel cover and is
attached to a tilt column. Ahead of the driver is a crack-free dash
that houses an 85mph speedometer, gas gauge, and warning lights for
temp, oil, and battery. The climate controls work just as they
should and they crank out hot heat and cold A/C on demand. The
original factory Delco AM/FM/Cassette stereo with EQ is present,
gets power, but does not work (it could easily be replaced with an
aftermarket unit). The center console between the seats has an
armrest with storage box, the shifter for the automatic
transmission, and an ashtray. The rear seat is in like-new
condition and consists of bucket bottoms and a fold-down bench
back. Overhead is a tight black fabric headliner and underfoot is
nice quality black carpet. These 84 Camaro's were a big hit when
they first came out, with Road Track declaring it one of the 12
best cars in the Sport/GT category $11-14K range and Car Driver
proclaiming the 84 Z/28 the best handling car built in the USA that
year! It's no surprise that these cars are still a hot commodity.
This Camaro is turn-key ready to hit the road to the next car show,
cruise-in, or road trip. One thing is sure wherever you go in it -
you're going to get tons of thumbs up on the way there! Don't let
this affordable classic pass you by!
