This is a stunning and unique 61 Chrysler Newport with the rare factory A/C option. It is equipped with power steering and brakes, clock and AM radio.
It is a Southern California rust-free and accident-free car. It was treated to a professional paint job (was originally white) plus new upholstery about 7 years ago. It has new tires, battery, belts/hoses, tune-up, brakes, and the oil has been recently changed. The converted A/C works and was serviced on 11/17/2023. Radio is not hooked up, but the previous owner said that it did work, but he had a stereo hidden in the glove box. I believe it's a 3 owner car before me, and the 2nd owner had the car in a private collection for about 15 years. The last owner bought the car in the 90s and found paperwork from that showed the original owner lived 2 blocks down the road... quite the coincidence! All the electrical works as it should - dash lights, turn signals, horn, wipers, headlights and inside lights. The twin antennas on the back are real, working antennas, not dummies.
The car runs and drives almost like new. The 361 engine is quiet, no smoke, no knocks, and sports a rebuilt carburetor. I get about 18-20 MPG on the highway. Transmission shifts so well you can barely feel it. I have a huge folder full of receipts and paperwork all the way back to 1961. It still has the original owner's manual in the plastic wrapper, never opened. The original set of aluminum keys do not appear to have ever been used.
You can literally fly in and drive this beauty home - just make sure you add a couple of days to the trip since people will want to ask questions and take pictures - it's really an attention-getter! I wouldn't hesitate to drive this anywhere in the country.
The door panels, headliner and stainless are 100% original. The doors, trunk, and hood were removed for painting, and all new weather-stripping installed. You will not be disappointed. There are a couple of touched-up chips from moving and the road, but of course, nothing major. Some of the stainless has a few dings as well. Nothing that can't be straightened very easily. I am retiring and moving out of country - otherwise I wouldn't be selling.
I will help with logistics for shipping, but the cost is your responsibility. Car doesn't leave my garage until paid in full of course. Any payment other than cash/wire transfer must clear my bank before shipping. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 702-292-1201. I am on Pacific Time, so you east-coasters keep that in mind :). Inspections are welcome.
