This example has undergone a four-wheel drive conversion, enabling
it to go more places than a traditional van. Finished in Oxford
White (code YZ), the van's paint and trim are in overall very good
order with some minor imperfections from use. The bodywork is
straight and solid and the chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body.
Additionally, the engine bay is tidy and the expansive cargo area
is clean. There is a Draw-Tite trailer hitch in back with dual
spotlights, a roof-mounted light bar and dual tow hooks up
front.
This van rolls on Cooper Discoverer AT3 light truck tires, size
LT285/75R16 at all four wheels, with a rear-mounted, full-size
spare tire, a BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A, size 285/75R16. The van
rides on a 138-inch wheelbase and has a 9,100 GVWR.
Under the hood is Ford's 5.4L SOHC Triton V-8 engine, featuring
multi-port fuel injection, roller finger followers, fracture-split
powder metal connecting rods, and in some applications, a forged
steel crankshaft. This motor is backed by Ford's AOD four-speed
automatic transmission with overdrive (code 4R75E and trim tag code
Q) with a 3.73:1 rear end. ABS and RSC lights on dash, turn off
when placed into gear. Driver convenience features are plentiful -
front and rear air-conditioning, power steering, power brakes,
cruise control, power locks, power windows, power sideview mirrors,
tilt steering column and tinted glass.
Safety equipment includes dual front airbags, seatbelt
pretensioners and anti-lock brakes. Other extras include dual cowl
spotlights, a roof-mounted light bar, dual front tow hooks and
fender flares. It has a roll cage complete with rifle and
additional storage.
Inside, the Medium Stone (code ME) interior is in overall great
interior. There are two captain's chairs with folding armrests in
front and a single bench seat in the rear. There's no center bench
seat between them, providing plenty of floor space for storage. The
carpet is in decent order. A black, two-spoke steering wheel frames
the dashboard. It and the inner door panels are in very good order.
A column-mounted shift and a factory AM/FM stereo with CD player
rounds out the interior with a bonus - a Citizens' Band radio on
the floor.
Competition to this E350 van in 2007 included Chevrolet's Express,
Dodge's Ram Wagon, GMC's Savana and Mercedes-Benz's Sprinter.
