Vehicle Description
The 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe two-door is the last generation of the
short-wheelbase two-door full-size SUV. And this distinction only
gets better as you see how well this loaded fuel-injected V8 4x4
has been given custom investment to be sporty and more
luxurious.
There's just something much more fun about a two-door big SUV, and
the last few years carried the current Tahoe name. So this one has
the most modern style Chevy has ever put on these SUVs. But more
than just a standout for its rarity, this one will grab attention
for the overall presentation. The consignor said his inspiration
for this was creating a "Full Size (GMC) Typhoon." That means
making it look meaner and sleeker on the outside. That means a
blackout grille, clear headlights, deeply tinted windows, deleted
badging, and a smooth rear roll pan. Making an excellent contrast
to the blackout package are the terrific Enkei 20-inch alloys. The
black paint is a more recent update, and it has an excellent gloss
to give this some added sleekness, but nothing on this Chevy ever
gets so fancy that you'll hesitate to drive it. After all, a 4x4
SUV like this has UTILITY right in its name.
The black interior is a nice mix of loaded features and newer
investments. So you have thoughtful updates like the Alcantara
headliner and sporty red contrast stitching in the upholstery. And
this has all the best amenities, like a power driver's seat, power
windows, power locks, power mirrors, keyless entry, a custom cup
holder center console, cruise control, electric rear defogger, a
tilt steering column, a driver airbag, and cold-blowing factory air
conditioning. The stereo is upgraded to an AM/FM/XM touchscreen
that runs Bluetooth and a backup camera. Like the exterior, the
full impression is about being attractive and useful. So we
especially like the split fold-down rear tailgate that gives you a
nice seat, whether at a ballgame or campsite.
Under the hood is the correct 5.7-liter fuel-injected V8. The
Vortec motor is known for its power, and the clean presentation
here is more signs of a well-respected life. It's unknown if the
odometer reflects the total mileage, but the way this runs and the
newer components (like the compressor and alternator) give it the
solid feeling that makes these V8s feel evergreen. As good as this
looks, it's also a serious 4x4 with a floor-shift transfer case
that can let you engage on the fly when the terrain gets rugged.
But even if you use this one for grocery runs, you'll appreciate
features like the power steering, front disc brakes, and a
four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly
overdrive.
This Tahoe has been custom upgraded to be a bit more mean on the
outside and more comfortable on the inside. There does appear to be
a salvage title in its history. It's one of the last two-door
full-size Chevy SUVs and has been made even more distinct. So don't
miss this deal. Call now!
