All original survivor! 54,902 actual miles. Juanita Brown bought
this car brand new and pampered it until she sold it in 1999. Her
son was tracked down and he said the car was garage kept, only left
town once and his mother took exceptional care of it. It was also
owned by a serious Buick collector. He was restoring some rare
Stage-1s and used this car as a reference of authenticity.
Everything is original except for typical maintenance- battery,
tires, exhaust etc.
EXTERIOR: Original paint! Never rusted, never damaged, never
restored. It is a clean, straight body that fits right. Functioal
ram air hood. For original 53 year old paint it looks great. It
presents nicely but of course has flaws. Beautiful color-
Gulfstream Blue. So many of these were brown or green back then.
Original white vinyl top overall looks great, it has an area of dry
cracks. The bumpers shine bright. The grill, emblems, trim look
great. The original glass is very clear. 15 inch Buick mags
sparkle. Reproduction Goodyear GT tires. Original T3
headlights.
INTERIOR: It is amazing that an original white interior that is 53
years old still looks this good! The dash area is mint. The lenses,
chrome instrument bezel, heater controls, knobs, vents are
excellent. It has an AM/FM radio that works, deluxe wheel is mint.
Down on the floor is original carpet and floor mats in great shape.
The seats still feel firm, the upholstery is excellent. The bench
seat has a fold down armrest. Complete set of original seat belts.
The headliner and visors are excellent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #s match ram air 455-365 hp motor, it's never
been out of the car. All original components: manifolds, valve
covers, air cleaner etc. It features air conditioning, power
steering and brakes. Original overflow bottle, washer bottle, heat
riser tube, fender flaps etc. It has a reproduction Delco
battery.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb have original
paint, even the decal is still original. Original mat and
weatherstrip. Inside is rust free metal with mostly original
spatter paint. Original mat, jack and a GS wheel with a Polyglass
tire for a spare.
UNDERSIDE: It is a rust free, very well preserved original
underside. It was maintained as needed. It does have upgraded gas
shocks, a new pitman arm, we just replaced the fuel tank. It also
has a correct replacement dual exhaust system. It has the big Buick
finned brake drums, e-brake is hooked up. Looking up at the motor
it is clean. It has it's original VIN# matching Turbo 400
automatic. Original 10 bolt posi rear. Although you may see minimal
surface haze of rust, this is absolutely rock solid metal. It's not
rotten, patched or repaired. It's never even been spray painted
over!
SERVICE: We inspected the car and adjusted the choke, repaired the
reverse lights, adjusted the e-brake and replaced the fuel tank
because of a slight leak.
Occasionally we can find a survivor but rarely is it a desirable
muscle car like this one. It's usually grandma's car that nobody
had an interest in. This is truly a rare opportunity to own a
survivor that people want. You can restore a car over and over,
it's only original once!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
