This Mercury Eight Sport Sedan has been the recipient of a full
restoration and is a rare example of this classic. The owner states
that the odometer milage of 49,500 is actual. The lazar straight
exterior was refinished in 2-tone - original Dune Beige with a
Taupe roof/trunk lid. All of the chrome is in outstanding condition
and accents include a stunning hood ornament, classic '50's chrome
grill and 15" factory wheels w/caps that mount Firestone whitewall
radials. There is also a full windshield sun visor and rear fender
skirts. The restored brown/beige cloth interior is art. Upholstery,
door cards and headliner are all in excellent condition. The
stunning dash holds the original push-button AM radio (needs TLC)
and a full set of working factory gauges. Windows are power
assisted, carpeting is plush and there are dome/map lights. The
classic steering wheel is beautiful and directional signals are
integrated on the steering column. Horsepower is provided by a
255ci flathead V8 that was rated at 112hp/206lb-ft w/Holley 2-bbl
carb. Everything under the hood looks better than original and the
factory 6-volt electrical system is fitted with dual batteries. The
big flathead runs beautifully and torque is transferred to a
3-speed manual gearbox w/column shift. The chassis is equipped with
front coil/rear leaf spring suspension, manual steering, manual
drum brakes and a new fuel tank. A set of repair manuals is
included with the car. This Mercury sedan is a stunning, functional
example of a classic Merc Eight sedan. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS
IS".
