Vehicle Description
1991 Volkswagen Cabriolet Etienne Aigner - 1.8L I4 - Automatic
Transmission - 91k Miles - Dark Green Exterior - Green Interior -
Black Convertible Top Pairing a fashion brand known for fashionable
luxury leather goods with VW's Rabbit-based Cabriolet makes for an
interesting product. However, that's exactly what this cool little
car is. The limited number of Etienne Aigner Cabriolets that were
produced are very attractive cars, which put a bit of a spin on the
economical Cabriolet. These special edition Cabriolets were offered
in three colors; Midnight Blue Pearl effect, Bordeaux, and Mangrove
Green Metallic like the car you see here. They came standard with
cruise control, A/C, power windows, and driver's airbag. Our
research shows that only 2,951 Etienne Aigner Cabriolets were
produced, with only 639 having been produced for the US market in
Mangrove Green Metallic. The exterior is finished in a rich green
metallic, with a black convertible top, and green interior which
has striped inserts on the seats. The seat pattern looks much like
what you would see as a liner in a luxury handbag, or fancy jacket.
Gold clasp logos have been affixed to the front seats, in addition,
Mr. Aigner's signature can be found on the front fenders. The
convertible top was recently replaced, but was replaced with a
black top, rather than the body colored top that the car would have
originally had. Mangrove Green Metallic paint is in nice condition,
with nice gloss and even color. The car has what many Volkswagen
enthusiasts refer to as a clipper kit which consists of fender
flares, side skirts, and front and rear bumpers which are all
painted body color. The components of the clipper kit are in great
condition. Le Castellet wheels, which are 14x6, are in great
condition and provide a nice contrast to the green paint. Interior
trim is quite different from the standard Cabriolet. Sport seats
are covered in green cloth with a striped pattern center section,
and the Aigner logo is repeatedly shown along the seats as well as
the door panels. Auxiliary gauges can be found in the center
console right above the special holders for your cassette tapes. An
aftermarket Kenwood CD player has been added, and the main gauge
cluster consists of easy to read white numbered gauges. Under the
hood is a 1.8L Inline 4 mated to an automatic transmission. This
limited edition Cabriolet is a car which is perfect for those who
want to have a vehicle that is slightly different from what others
may have. Beautiful color combinations, unique interior trim, and a
fashion designer's name on the car made these Cabriolets unique.
Aigner products are still sold today, which means that in addition
to this car, you could probably find a few nice accessories to
match. Though we don't recommend wearing Aigner accessories while
working on the car, the combination of grease and Aigner leather is
a fashion faux pas. Please call if interested or e-mail with
specific questions. Thanks for looking.
