Vehicle Description
This 2008 Lexus GX470 Overland is among the most interesting 4x4
campers. It gives you rugged Land Cruiser-based features, V8 power,
and a ton of off-road upgrades. But you also get to enjoy the
luxuries of a Lexus. So when you want to "rough it" with creature
comforts, it's worth looking at this custom.
We like the base that was used for this overland camper. The GX
series is based on the Land Cruiser Prado. It's a vehicle we don't
get in the USA because it was developed to have the rugged features
of a Land Cruiser but in a more user-friendly package (so that
seemed like the right idea to put in our Lexus dealerships.) So it
was already made to be a real off-road machine even before there
were some big investments made to this one. It starts up front with
an awesome steel bumper, integrated winch, LED light bar, and
better approach/departure angles. And speaking of clearance,
there's a nice lift on the suspension and terrific-looking TRD
17-inch wheels. Plus, there's something uniquely fun about looking
at a profile with sharp-looking Lexus silver paint and rugged rock
sliders. And the rear is well stocked with an upgraded steel
bumper, a full-sized spare, and a proper trailer hitch. This one
loves to be versatile, so you already have everything from a
snorkel air intake to plenty of additional LED lights to keep you
going farther. And, of course, proper overland camping means a roof
rack and handy tend mounted on top.
The interior is up to Lexus luxury standards. That means plenty of
leather, burled walnut trim, and a feature-filled style. It's
loaded with dual-zone automatic A/C climate control, power windows,
power locks, power front seats, heated seats, power mirrors, cruise
control, dual front airbags, a tilt steering column, a premium
AM/FM/CD stereo system with aux input, and a sunroof. This is a
well-kept actual mileage vehicle, and so you will find signs of
use, but that seems inconsequential on a car made for enjoying an
adventure. You even have excellent home-away-from-home features
like TV screens in the front headrests for the couch-like rear
seats. And there's a mini fridge in the oversized cargo area.
The mechanical side of this GX shows off the right mix of Land
Cruiser robustness with the right amount of Lexus comfort. For
example, this has the same fuel-injected V8 power you can get in
the Land Cruiser. This 4.7-liter unit was developed to have plenty
of torque for truck/SUV use, and it also is quite versatile with
variable valve and DOHC setup that is peppy for around-town
driving, too. We have an excellent maintenance file showing this
one was correctly handled. And also, just like a proper Land
Cruiser, this GX has a robust 4x4 system with a two-speed transfer
case and hill descent control. Additional upgrades like Icon
Vehicle Dynamics shocks and beefy Yokohama Geolandar tires were
added. But this one is also a star when it comes time for on-road
use. Unlike some Land Cruisers, this GX has a comfortable
independent front end. A four-speed automatic transmission with
overdrive, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes is always
handy.
This GX470 was upgraded to take you further and let you stay out
longer because it's a modern 4x4 with all the best overland
amenities. So you know you want it to fit your full adventurous
lifestyle. Call today!!!
