This 1985 Colorado Red has an accident free Carfax that confirms the low 81,400 miles as original, clicking up nice and slow over the years, with all but the last 900 of those miles from the deep south state of Texas. Think of those low miles in this way, they represent an incredible slightly over 2,000 miles per year driven. You couldn’t ask for a stronger frame and undercarriage as she has been kept far away from road salt. Her condition before our restoration began was a testament to a very easy and protected life that she had enjoyed. The perfect candidate for a Classic Gentleman restoration.
For the most retro-classic Grand Wagoneer enthusiast, the 1985 model year was the final year to offer the much loved traditional dashboard layout with the round gauges and toggle switches. The Honey color interior is likewise heavily sought-after by buyers in the upper reaches of the Wagoneer restoration market.
The frame off restoration is extensive, from a newly remanufactured original spec 360ci V8 engine, updating to modern fuel injection, rebuilt automatic transmission to a whole host of other cosmetic and mechanical/electrical works with the highlights detailed below:
