Tan And Brown Interior The Dodge A-100 Vans were first introduced
in 1964 and were part of a market niche for working man's service
vehicles. The A-100 along with the Ford Econoline, Chevrolet Van,
Chevy Corvair Greenbriar Van, and the Volkswagen Type 2 Microbus
were all competing for the market of working vehicles and family
haulers. This segment of vehicles became cult classics and a
darling for customizers with an A-100 famously built as an
exhibition wheel-standers called the Dodge Little Red. While the
Dodge A100 was only produced for 6 years, it was well embedded into
the car culture chosen by Scooby and the Gang to cruise around
solving mysteries as well as starring in Disney's Cars Movie
Franchise in the role of Dusty. This van is originally from
California and is very clean and rust-free. This van is painted in
period correct two-tone Mopar hues Medium, Copper Dust with white.
The older repaint has minimal blemishes and shines with a nice
luster. All the factory stainless steel trim and emblems are
present and polished to a nice brilliance. The front bumper was
replaced with a set of era-correct custom Nerf-style bumperettes
and out back the factory-painted bumper is in place. A set of
American Racing Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in Cooper Cobra radial
tires add a nice vintage sporty look to this van. Inside the
interior has been well restored with hard parts that have been
painted to match the exterior body color. The seat upholstery has
been replaced on completely restored seat frames and the floors
have been treated to a durable textured black finish with black
vinyl floor mats. Custom stained and sealed wood door and interior
panels are a very tasteful upgrade from the original vinyl units.
Tunes fill the cabin courtesy of a Kenwood AM/FM/CD player with
four Kenwood speakers mounted fore and aft. Under the hood is the
legendary Dodge 225CID Slant Six. The engine compartment is clean
and presents as well maintained with new ignition components, an
alternator, and a new radiator. Power is transferred through a
column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Underneath the
unibody chassis construction is unrestored, but structurally solid
and rust-free as expected from a California van. A cache of
receipts accompanies the vehicle supporting a history of
maintenance. This vintage cool van is a great driver and attracts a
lot of attention rolling down the road and is sure to be a hit at
car shows. This would be a great vehicle for sports tailgating
events as well or perhaps some amateur sleuthing! Please call if
interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thanks for looking.
