Vehicle Description
Another beautiful Basil Classic... this 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T has
been handpicked and meets Joe Basil's standards of excellence and
tradition of fine automobiles since 1951. This vehicle is truly one
of a kind and one of the cleanest, most well taken care of,
showroom condition Coronets that you will find! Buy with
confidence!!
This is a 3-owner car originally out of Chicago, IL. This R/T was
fully restored 3 months prior to its arrival at our store, and it
is truly stunning! The Model name Coronet has been used by Dodge
through seven generations starting in 1949. However, by 1967 with
the onslaught of the performance era, Dodge saw the handwriting on
the wall and decided to begin to expand their performance line.
Enter the Coronet R/T, named to suggest a vehicle designed for road
and track use, and assembled with standard features such as a 440
CI engine with 375 HP and a respectable 480 ft lbs of torque. But
Dodge didn't stop there, they also installed heavier duty torsion
bars, springs, shocks and brakes making the R/T a serious
performance contender which was available with either a standard
shift or a torque flight automatic transmission. If the buyer was
still hungry for ultimate power they could put down an additional
$908 and Dodge would install a 426 CI Hemi engine which delivered
425hp in your R/T. Very few were ordered with the hemi engine and
don't look for a convertible Model, only three were known to have
been produced. The Coronet R/T to this day is still a highly sought
after and respected performance automobile.
At BASIL CLASSIC CARS, we were fortunate to have obtained two of
these exceptional 1967 Coronet R/Ts. (stock numbers C267 and this
one, C289) Features include power steering, power brakes, a 440 CI
375 HP engine with a torque flight automatic transmission, which
are common to both cars. Additionally, the turbine bronze metallic
paint, with the factory louvered hood and magnum 500 chrome mag
wheels wrapped in period correct red wall tires are also items
which are seen on this hansom R/T. The chrome and body panels are
in excellent undamaged condition which further increases this
performance beauty's time capsule appearance and the white vinyl
top corresponds perfectly with the stunning white vinyl bucket seat
interior. A shift on the column and a center strato insert enables
you to draw your significant other a little closer while cruising
the boulevards or just flip it down and use it as an arm rest, the
choice is yours. The instruments and padded dash are in excellent
condition as is the nicely positioned factory tach. The Certicard
sis till present and this car also features disk brakes, and 3.54
gears! Come have a look for yourself, this one is a beauty!
Just look and you can tell that this vehicle was very well cared
for by its owners and kept in show condition! When you drive this
vehicle, it has the feel that you're looking for...runs and drives
just like new! This is a no excuse vehicle. This car will make a
fine collector's piece for you and your family for years to come!
