Vehicle Description
The Mercedes Benz W107 chassis was one of the longest running
models in their history. This chassis ran underneath various bodies
starting in 1971 all the way through to 1989. One of the most
sought after and collectible today are the SL-Class vehicles
featuring the ever-popular convertible sport car design! Some
notable changes on the newly introduced 380SL series in 1980 would
include a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the following year,
more fuel-efficient engines with a more highway friendly gear
ratio. This model would cater to buyers from 1980 through mid-1985.
Today, they represent an easy way to get into a classy investment
vehicle with timeless good looks, along with excellent road going
manners!

This Mercedes' early life was meticulously maintained exclusive at
Plaza Mercedes Benz of St. Louis. In 2019 the current owner
replaced the oil drain plug and seal ring, valve cover gaskets,
exhaust seal ring, transmission modulator valve, vacuum servo,
transmission seal kit, rear crank shaft seal, and battery all done
at German car specialist, EuroCar of St. Louis, MO. Porsche of St.
Louis retrofitted the air conditioning system to R134a and fixed a
leak at the compressor in 2019. In 2020, the transmission was
removed and professionally rebuilt by GLB Motorworks along with a
new starter installed. In preparation for sale, our service shop
recently had the front passenger wheel bearing replaced. The
Mercedes 380SL remains a terrific driver eager to hit the road! It
has seen one exterior repaint, not including the hardtop which
wears its factory paint along with a few imperfections, while the
interior remains original with exception to the lower console wood
trim being brand new.
This 380SL shows 73,115 miles on the odometer and comes with a
clean Carfax report along with the original owner's manual, window
sticker & purchase paperwork from the original dealer at Mark
Motors Inc in Illinois, as well as the aforementioned service
receipts. The Carfax supports that it has averaged under 350 fair
weather miles each year over the past 15 years, which has preserved
this Mercedes in a beautiful, garage kept condition. Also included
with the purchase of this Mercedes is a full set of painted
light-allow wheels (4), storage car cover, wool seat covers, and
factory first aid kit. Thank you for your interest in this
great-looking and driving sports car! Please contact us with any
