Seven Hills Motorcars is tremendously proud to offer this
absolutely stunning and original low mileage 1979 Buick Riviera.
This Buick is in amazing original condition with only 63,478
original miles. The car looks beautiful, runs great, and drives
awesome. This survivor Riviera is a time capsule and an investment
grade classic. The car has great lines and is totally solid; one
can even see how good the car is underneath in the many photos of
the car on a lift. This is an excellent opportunity to own an
exceptional Buick that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an
unbeatable value.
This Riviera is finished in the beautiful, highly desirable color
combination of Medium Green (44) over Green Crushed Velour Cloth
with a White vinyl top. This is the correct and factory original
color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is
pictured in this ad. The colors on this car are truly striking and
I cannot tell you how much attention and compliments this color
gets. The very low original mileage is verified not only by the
condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title that states the
mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, and
information in this ad to get a true sense of clean, nice, and
original this Cadillac coupe really is.
We have driven this car about 20 miles recently. During that time
that car was completely reliable, has no issues, and was a true
pleasure to drive.
As a side note, this Buick is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand
pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from
owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the
vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Riviera, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Medium Green (44) exterior is in excellent condition. As one
can see in the photos the finish has a smooth finish. Both doors
open and shut nicely and do not sag. The chrome and other bright
work is in great condition with a brilliant finish and no pitting.
The vinyl top looks nice with no holes or rips. The original
hubcaps are in great condition with a nice finish and no curb rash.
The wide whitewall tires from Coker are like new and are correctly
sized 215/75R15. There are no major blemishes that have been
intentionally excluded from the photos. As one would expect from a
paint job with this many years on it there is a small area on the
hood and some other tiny imperfections around the car that were too
faint to show up in pictures, but nothing that is really noticeable
from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos
of the underside of the car it is very clean underneath. The bottom
of the car is totally solid; the floor pans are solid and all of
the body panels and sheet metal are original. We have included
specific photos of the lower quarter panels, rockers, frame, spring
perches, and other areas most prone to rust to show how clean this
car is.
Interior
The Green Crushed Velour Cloth interior of the Riviera is in
outstanding condition. The seats are in excellent shape and look
just as nice in person as they do in the photos with no excessive
wear, holes, or split seams. The seats are not worn in the typical
area where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these
appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap
aftermarket covers or replacements. The gauge faces are crisp and
clean and the lenses are clear. The woodgrain inside is in
excellent shape with no delamination. The chrome and bright work on
the inside of the car looks wonderful. The carpet is also in great
condition with no stains, rips, or holes. The original floor mats
are also included with the car. The dash and console are in great
shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels are in
good shape overall. The driver's door panel is not cracked in the
typical spot where the driver's elbow sits. Please note that both
seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem on
1970's GM cars and an issue many buyers do not think to check. This
car has never been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma
of cigarettes at all. This is one of the best original interiors we
have ever seen in person in a classic Buick and is a true study of
how these cars looked from the factory.
The trunk also looks fantastic and is highly detailed. The carpet
is in amazing condition as are the fragile cardboard liners. It is
also totally complete with the space saver spare tire (which has
never been used), inflator bottle, jack, jack base, and lug
wrench/jack handle
Buick interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the
excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament
to the meticulous care and attention this car has received
throughout its life and another great verification of the very low
original mileage. The interior looks just as great in person as it
does in the photos.
Mechanical
This Buick Riviera is in excellent mechanical condition and it is
ready to be enjoyed. As stated above the car was recently driven
about 20 miles with absolutely no problems. The 5.7L V8 engine
starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. The car
is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and floats
down the highway. In the video in this ad one can observe the car
accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all
the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves.
Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the
car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do
not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts smoothly
throughout the power band. There is no blue smoke when starting or
driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. The original
air ride suspension has been gone through and works perfectly as it
should. Also, the engine compartment is clean, detailed, and
correct as one can see in the photos.
The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, dash
lights, indicators, wipers, power windows, power locks, both power
seats in all six directions, and rear window defroster. Even very
detailed items like the trunk light and key buzzer still work; eve
the clock still works and keeps time. The blower for the heater and
a/c works on all speeds. The air conditioning itself works and
blows ice cold. One can observe the a/c compressor clicking on and
engaging properly in the video. The radio works well, get good
reception, and the power antenna can be seen going up and down in
the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it
is to drive this car.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1979 Buick Riviera is in amazing condition and truly
an investment grade classic. This car is particularly rare and
extra desirable with the extraordinary original condition, low
mileage, and the beautiful and stunning color combination. Low
mileage and original examples of classic Buicks are hard to find
and draw a huge premium in the current market. Originality is
extremely important in classic car pricing and as one can see this
car is very original and correct.
This Riviera always gets a ton of attention driving down the road.
