Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to be able to
present a true Japanese classic, this 1985 Toyota Celica Supra
5-speed. The early to mid-80's "A60" Celica Supra MKII had that
long, sloping hood with the hideaway pop-up headlights & an angular
roof and window line typical of the era that gave it an overall
wedge shape we all came to know in the younger years! Powered by a
dual overhead cam 2.8L Inline 6 and 5-speed manual transmission,
and the suspension was upgraded from a rear live axle with four
trailing links and a Panhard rod to a semi-trailing arm independent
rear suspension. The MacPherson struts remained up front and it was
actually all tuned by Lotus, giving it even more credibility in the
car world. The success of the redesigned Supra in the U.S. was
noted even further by it being awarded Motor Trends "1982 Import
Car of the Year", as well as it being named to Car & Drivers " Top
10" list. This example comes to us as an original surviving CA. car
and is unmolested, with the exception of a Sony aftermarket
AM/FM/CD player and is equipped with power window, locks, sunroof
and a manual lumbar "pump", among other standard features. This
1985 time capsule is only showing 141,018 actual CarFax verified
miles, so if this is a reminder of your younger years, or if you
are just looking for an original Japanese classic, this Supra is
certainly worthy of consideration.
