Vehicle Description
This 1976 Dodge Aspen Wagon is the grocery-getter that you always
wished would have been released from the Mopar stable. It has a
sleeper-like style but the kind of V8 swagger that could almost
earn it an R/T badge. Plus, it's a truly useful cruiser with plenty
of space and cold-blowing A/C.
The Dodge Aspen had some of the best design details of the era. So
today, we appreciate the contours of the hood and a touch of flair
in the fenders. The factory-correct Big Sky Blue looks complete
while also being a mix of updated and matured. You could take the
value price and invest in the paint and body to have more of a
swagger wagon, but we kind of like how this one already is. After
all, there's a bit more authenticity in a wagon that looks like it
has pulled rear daily duty. Plus, there's a fundamental appeal here
with clean lines, good-looking trim, nice glass, and bright chrome
bumpers. There are also the right touches that give this a more
sporting attitude, including upgraded alloys and a rear spoiler
behind the luggage rack. So there's just a nice classic sense of
cool.
The sea of blue continues inside. This car is coming off of about a
dozen years of long-term care, and so there has been good care and
investments here. It includes newer carpeting, dying the door
panels, and making sure the upholstery looks good with ribbed
seatbacks and a button-top cushion in the rear. There's room for
everyone, and there are great cruising features like cup holders,
an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB, and cold-blowing R134a air
conditioning. And this also was built to be a true driver. After
all, when was the last time you saw a wagon with front bucket
seats? Plus, there's the sports steering wheel and auxiliary
readouts.
Under the hood is a Mopar muscle favorite. The 340 cubic-inch V8
has a legionary status in the power car community, and this one
even has a Demon four-barrel carburetor on top. The three-speed
automatic transmission was also upgraded with a TCI Saturday Night
Special stall converter. Right now, the full setup is more about
being a nice cruiser with some added power and rumble. So it's more
about being a solid driver, which is likely what you want. There
have been newer investments in areas like an engine overhaul, a
front-end rebuild, KYB rear shocks, and a terrific X-pipe dual
exhaust. But don't forget, this is also the right foundation if you
want to tune it to be a full-on sleeper. And no matter how you
choose to enjoy this Aspen wagon, the power steering, power brakes,
and front discs make for a better driver.
This is powerful, versatile, unique, and a ton of driving fun.
There's even room in the budget to give it your own personal
touches. That's why you want to take it home. Call today!!!
