Vehicle Description
This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Restomod is all about sleek
speed. You have modern fuel-injected LS3 power, a six-speed
transmission, an upgraded suspension, a custom/comfy
air-conditioned interior, and a body freshly painted as dark as
midnight. But even with all this modern flair, it still never loses
that cool vintage coupe feeling you love so much.
The trim tag tells us this was born a black T/A, but as a true
restomod there have been modern investments everywhere, including
the paint. This looks like a fresh application of the beautiful
black because there's less than 450 miles on the full build. So the
sunlight shows off a smooth shine that makes this coupe look like
it has been cut from volcanic glass. This has the best classic
Trans Am body details, like the factory body kit, shaker-style
hood, fender vents, and the three-piece rear spoiler. There are
even well-integrated upgrades, like the clear headlights,
sequential tail lights, and classic snowflake wheels that are
really modern 18-inch alloys. And one of our favorite upgrades is
the hood bird. Didn't see it the first time? It's done in a cool
matte black that reveals itself from the shadows when the sunlight
hits it. That's how this earns its Blackbird nickname.
The black theme continues inside with the all-black interior
accented by the bright machine-turned dash panel that's a hallmark
of these Trans Ams. The whole setup is clean, comfortable, and
thoughtfully done. You get upgraded TMI bucket seats done in supple
leather with suede-like inserts, an armrest center console, and the
classic T/A sports steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. This
gives you a clear view of the upgraded Dakota Digital gauges with
large speedo and tach. And we know you'll love resting your right
hand on the custom billet shifter. There are nice premium features
like power windows and power locks. Plus, they cleanly installed
modern upgrades, like USB plugs and Vintage Air air conditioning.
And while the classic AM/FM 8-rack stereo is on display, your real
driving music comes from a Custom Autosound controller in the
ashtray that gives you AM/FM and Bluetooth.
Under the hood is the best upgrade of them all. This is a
fuel-injected 6.2-liter LS3 motor. It's the powerhouse for some of
the best performance GM cars of the latest generation, and so it's
terrific to have this professional installation in the engine bay
today. They even integrated some cool vintage details with the
shaker-style intake display and Pontiac covers over the coil packs.
The motor fires up readily as a modern FI powerplant should. And
the Hooker headers add power and growl to the X-pipe dual exhaust.
So this one always knows how to announce it's something special.
Best of all, the T56 six-speed manual transmission keeps you in
full control of the power and soundtrack. The Trans Am was always
known for being a sharp driver, and this takes it up a few notches
with a tubular A-arm front end, subframe connectors, a Moser diff
cover, and Calvert Racing adjustable rear shocks. Plus, you have
power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, drilled & slotted
rotors, and the grip of modern ZR-rated performance tires that all
give you added confidence on the road.
This one upgrades all the cool style you love about a classic T/A
and there's a ton of added power, too. So you know you need to get
your hands on this one right now. Call today!!!
