For Sale: 2002 BMW Z8 in Costa Mesa, California

Vehicle Description

2002 BMW Z8 Roadster

This Jet Black 2002 BMW Z8 Roadster, a limited-production, all-aluminum chassis sports car designed in collaboration with Chris Bangel, Henrik Fisker, and Scott Lempert, pays homage to the iconic BMW 507 Roadster. This low-mile example has been meticulously maintained throughout its ownership as indicated by Carfax. Its retro-styling features aluminum bodywork, including fender vents with BMW roundels and front grills inspired by the original 507. It incorporates a unique exterior lighting system with neon-tube taillights and turn signals. The S62 V8 engine and 6-speed manual transmission borrowed from the E39 M5 sports sedan reportedly propels this Roadster from 0-60 MPH in 4.2 seconds. An indication of its gentlemanly good looks and deadly performance, the BMW Z8 replaced the legendary Aston Martin DB5 as James Bond's weapon of choice in the 1999 movie, "The World is Not Enough."

The Jet Black paint work is all original and the exterior of this Z8 Roadster is complemented by staggered Z8-specific 18", Style 59, split-spoke forged alloy wheels mounted to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires (purchased June 2022), chrome driver/passenger side mirrors, chrome door handles, discreet chrome trim outlining the twin front grills, and a removable black hardtop.

The black interior features black Nappa Leather heated and power-adjustable sports seats, sculpted aluminum knobs, classic banjo-style steering wheel, remote security entry, a push-button ignition, navigation system, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with six-disc CD changer, and digital BMW mobile flip-phone.

This BMW Z8 is equipped with a 4.9L S62 V8 engine featuring double-VANOS variable valve timing, quad hollow camshafts, and individual throttle bodies that produce up to 394 HP and 368 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. The mid/front-mounted engine contributes to an ideal 50/50 weight distribution.

The sale of this 2002 BMW Z8 Roadster, located in California, will include a clean title, clean Carfax, hardtop, recent service records, original window sticker, tool kit, factory first aid kit, and Motorola Flip Phone.
