Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
Avus blue 2000 BMW M5. This handsome BMW M5 is a well-equipped and
well-maintained example of the lauded 'Super Saloon', with the E39
generation being seen by many as the most desired all-round model
given its blend of impressive performance and engaging analogue
drive. It is powered by a 4.9-litre naturally aspirated S62 V8
engine linked to a six-speed manual transmission, which drives the
rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. In addition to the
powerful engine, major suspension and steering changes improved the
response and feel of the chassis because it was also the first M5
to use aluminum front suspension components and a multi-link rear
suspension. At the time, it was considered one of the highest
performing luxury cars of all time not only because of its near
50/50 weight balance but because of its superior drivetrain and
chassis. Demonstrating BMW's commitment to luxury and performance
in equal measure, the M5's factory specification includes heated,
power-adjustable front seats, with three memory settings for the
driver, electric sunroof, electric folding mirrors, and
electrically adjustable steering wheel. The M5 also received an OEM
style facelift that included halogen Hella in headlights and
taillights and an updated gauge cluster. The cabin is trimmed in
Caramel Napa leather accented with wood trim with dark floor mats.
The factory stereo has been replaced with a Dynavin multimedia unit
in the stock opening. This combination of Avus Blue with Caramel
leather is one of only 13 in North America, and one of 17 in the
world, so if you are looking for an extremely rare optioned super
sedan, this is the car for you.
