This beautiful SL500 is finished in Alabaster White over black and gray leather. It is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Optional equipment includes AMG Sport Package with 18″ “Alphard” alloy wheels and AMG-styled bodywork, as well as xenon headlights, heated and power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, COMAND with navigation and a Bose sound system. It has a power-folding convertible hardtop along with a panoramic glass roof. The wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires with date codes from 2016 and 2021. The car is equipped with Active Body Control (ABC) suspension (recent service), and cross-drilled rotors are fitted up front.
The cabin features power-adjustable and heated seats upholstered in gray leather, while contrasting black leather covers the upper dashboard and console. Amenities include burl wood trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a wind deflector, and COMAND infotainment with navigation and a Bose sound system. The leather and wood-trimmed steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The 5.0-liter V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque.
NOTE: The sport package gives the engine note a deeper growl through the sport exhaust. You can hear the V8 without it being obnoxious.
The car has remained registered in California since new, now has 67,000 miles and a clean Carfax record. Recent service to fix the ABC system with new tandem pump and hoses. Additional maintenance included new alarm speaker, regular Mercedes servicing, servicing of the heating and cooling system, and replacement of the rear brake pads.
The car has original protective vinyl on that has protected the paint well but is now older and cracked so doesn't look as great now. The paint underneath however, is in excellent condition and I am in the process of slowly removing the old protective vinyl. Most is now removed and the paint is excellent.
