A Tophat speaks louder than words.
The Land Rover Defender 110 Tophat , finished in white or in special Martini Racing Livery, it's up to you!
A car that was synonymous with snorkels, bull bars, winches, trenches and the savannah in Africa. These days, the average Dutch Defender has it a bit easier. The steepest slope is the Prinsengracht bridge and off-roading through the sandy path to horse-riding lessons is also quite something, Baudouin! But oh well, the Defender, practical considerations aside, is and always will be an icon!
The four- or five-burner self-ignites lend themselves perfectly to crawling through mud and delivering a lot of power at low revs. The downside is that reaching 100 km/h is not as smooth as the average beard growth and they had the handling of a teenager walking out of the pub for the first time after the Corona crisis. Tophat the Defender icon has made the 'AMG-tjes and SVR'ren' laugh with a toothache. How? An LS3, hot-cammed, mated to a Tremec 6-speed gearbox, breathing through a bespoke exhaust system with valve, of course. Needed? Neuh. Fun? Gadverdamme how good!
Now, you can put quite a bit in your big G or X7 these days, but nothing can match the Top(hat) 110. And this one? This one is a bit éxtra special. Completely original on the outside apart from the 'slightly potentier diameter exhaust'. However, a choice of Martini Racing Livery is fully included in the price of this one. Inside, everything has also been left as standard as possible, so this sleeper seriously amazes the average left-hand drive. The standard TD5 and gearbox are also present, so for the purist, this Defender is still matching numbers convertible. Will we see you soon?
