Vehicle Description
Look at the underside photos of this immaculate 1955 Ford F100. It
is as clean as they come, but that isn't the only reason this is a
spectacular vehicle. The second generation F100 is a highly
celebrated model in Ford's iconic F-series.
What sets this truck apart? 1955 was the first year with the
wrap-around windshield giving the drive more visibility and leaving
the pickup looking more modern. It is loaded with optional
equipment and is a factory original, numbers matching truck.
Ford offered many factory options that were not necessarily
included on every vehicle. This pickup features the larger engine
offered, a Y-block V8 "Power King" making 132 HP and paired it with
the 3-speed manual transmission. The three-on-the-tree shifting is
fun, a characteristic of a different era in automobiles.
Today we would think of this designation as a trim level, but in
1955 the Custom Cab option included chrome window moldings,
bolstered sound-deadening for the cabin, dual sun visors and a
cigarette lighter. Even more, options such as the heater amp;
defroster and turn signals were not standard. Other optional
equipment is the heater amp; defroster and ever the turn signals!
Finally, the whitewall tires were optional but look fantastic
against the black truck.
It is a 6V system and it fires right up and runs like a top. See
the cold-start video in the photo reel on the detail page. The only
pieces of this truck that are not original are the hubcaps and
bumpers, although the originals are all included in the sale. You
have to see this beauty in person.
