Vehicle Description
This 1997 Ford Mustang GT shows the exact reason why young classics
are awesome. It has custom paint, a race-inspired interior, and
some nice upgrades to the fuel-injected V8. But what this never
loses along the way is the feeling of a solid new-era classic that
delivers all the best features you would even want in a brand-new
car.
The red and purple two-tone lets people instantly know this is a
custom car. It was done in 2021, and so you'll only find minimal
imperfections from driving and washing. And the golden pinstripe is
a nice touch to add some distinction and coordinate with the golden
pony up front. There are nice GT pieces seen on the hood, rockers,
and spoiler. But this one really turns the sporty style up a few
notches with the large polished exhaust tips and 18-inch American
Muscle black wheels. Plus, the clear headlights and front lip put a
more aggressive face forward. It all makes for a unique creation
that you'll be surprised is eligible for vintage plates in many
states.
The custom feeling continues inside, and now it comes with a speedy
twist. The back seat has been eliminated and a race cage put in its
place that properly extends into the trunk. There are even Crow
racing harnesses. But don't think of this as a pure track day
machine (the regular shoulder seatbelts are even still in place and
usable.) After all, this also has nice regular driving features
like cold-blowing air conditioning, dual airbags, tinted glass,
well-bolstered bucket seats done in a cool ostrich pattern, and an
AM/FM stereo with USB and Bluetooth. And you'll enjoy the feeling
of a proper GT that gives you a sports steering wheel on a tilt
column, full factory gauges, and an upgraded Hurst shifter.
One of the reasons a Mustang GT like this stays in demand is
because the later 4th gen model benefits from the upgrade to the
4.6-liter SOHC modular V8. It created a new performance era for the
pony car that also likes upgrades. And you can see that on this one
with the cold air intake, Accufab throttle body, and long tube
headers feeding a sweet-sounding dual exhaust. This pony car runs
strong, and you get to take full advantage of it thanks to the
five-speed manual transmission. The handling is superior with power
steering, ZR-rated performance tires, sway bars front & rear,
adjustable camber plates, and four-wheel disc brakes that include
ABS.
The sale comes with build photos and about $15k in build receipts.
