For Sale: 1973 Ford Mustang in Easton, Maryland

Vehicle Description

Eastern Shore Classic Cars is proud to offer this rare, 1973 4 speed, Q code, 351 Cleveland equipped, Mustang Convertible "survivor". The "Q" code 351C was built with 4V open Chamber heads that have very large ports and it came with a 4 brl. Carb. It was Fords performance engine for that model year. The 1973 model year brought some mild restyling to the Pony Car. The urethane front bumper became standard and was enlarged in accordance with new NHTSA standards. All Mustang models had their sport lamps replaced with vertical turn signals, as the new bumper covered the previous turn signal locations in the front valance. Both a Mach 1 and base grille were offered, with differing insert patterns. Convertibles were equipped with a power top and a glass rear window. The 1973 models were the last Mustangs available as a convertible until the 1983 model year. The 1973 model year Mustang was the final version of the original pony car. As previously mentioned, this is a survivor car. The current owner acquired the vehicle at a charity auction helping a friend. The car is located in northern VA, but the owner spends a small amount of time in the area and it has become obvious that the car needs to go to an owner who can give it the proper attention it deserves. It is a solid driver and performs admirably. The motor appears strong, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The paint needs a little attention, as there are a few stains that may be able to be buffed out and some bubbling in the rear quarter panel. There are also a few blemishes here and there as evidenced in the photos. The interior is in good condition other than the common delaminating of the plastic in the rear passenger compartment. Panels are readily available, or the existing ones can be sanded down and refinished. The bottom line is that this is a rare Q code car with a 4-speed transmission. They are very hard to find, to say the least. If you are a fan of Big Nose Mustangs, then here is your chance to own one at a reasonable price that will require minimal work to bring up to show quality. The car is located in northern VA and is offered at 18,000. Email Hank @ [email protected] or text at 201-317-9277 with questions or to set up an appointment.
