The Paint: Oynx Black, repainted in base/coat, clear/coat, and polished to a high show-shine including the black hardtop with red headliner. All trim and bright work is excellent
The Engine: Chevrolet NOE 283 CID V8 (vintage ’58-’60), aluminum intake, coated headers, electronic ignition, small performance cam. Starts and runs great. Originally the car would of had a 265 V8.
The Transmission: Muncie 4 speed manual, shifts easily, and the clutch works great, scatter shield
The Differential: Original 3.55:1 ratio
The Suspension: Original, rebuilt
The Interior: Red, factory restored with correct patterns, matching door panels, re dash housing the original gauges, custom gauge pod mounted on the transmission tunnel, factory console, waterfall glovebox, quality matching red carpets, and hardtop headliner

With just 3,467 total production units for the 1956 model year for Corvette, you can bet that aren’t too many out there…Especially the nice ones.
This particular ’56 was treated to a “Resto-mod” type of a restoration some years ago, by adding a nicely warmed over 283, backed up with a quick shifting 4 speed. Add to this a little custom gauge pod behind the shifter that looks like it could have come from the factory, and that pretty much rounds out the extent of the deviation from stock.
The beautiful Onyx black paint is exceeding superior to the quality the Corvette would have left St. Louis with. Very deep, and very glossy.
The vibrant red interior is beautiful as well, and compliments the black paint like no other combination! Both the white soft top and black hard top are in beautiful condition, although you’ll likely just want to cruise around with the top down..Or off as it were.
The fact is, this is a beautiful, fun driving Corvette, but unfortunately I don’t have any history or provenance for it. Nevertheless, a great car to show, drive, as well as invest in.
If you’ve always wanted a first generation Corvette, that you can cruise around, and just enjoy anytime, this is it! Super nice, great car!
