FRESH INVENTORY! This very sexy 1955 Cadillac Eldorado is fresh out
of storage from a long term owner. This is a true Eldorado
convertible which was a completely different body than the normal
'55 Caddy convertible. One of only 3950 Produced in 1955 in
Convertible body only. The Eldorado Seville Hardtop would not
arrive til 1956. This car is powered by the ORIGINAL VIN #s MATCH
331ci V8 with dual 4bbl carbs covered in the famous "batwing" air
cleaner and is riding on the period correct Cadillac Sabre wheels.
This car was restored 30 years ago with fresh bumpers and grille
and a slight color change from Alabaster Gray (light gray/white) to
the white/red combo you see represented here. Original interior
color was blue and white leather. The car does have some evidence
of body filler down low and has some floor patch pans done in the
past, but it is not too bad considering being a 68 year old drop
top. The convertible system has not been addressed and most of the
assembly including a good white top is in place. The major piece
that is missing is the front header bow that the latches attach to.
That part is missing and we have been struggling to find a
replacement. As of now unless one pops up consider this a fair
weather car with no top. The hard parade boot is in place to really
finish off the look.
The game plan as of now is currently to make the car operate
reliably as an around town cruiser. The radiator has been pulled,
boiled and re-installed. A new water pump, fuel pump, hoses, belts,
fuel filters and battery have been installed. The complete brake
system has been gone through with fresh wheel cylinders, brake
lines and a fresh master cylinder. The car does have quite old
white walls on it which should be replaced by the next owner. The
transmission has been recently serviced and shifts well through all
gears and reverse. I have had the car up to about 50mph reliably.
It will need some front and suspension work and fresh tires to
confidently drive on the highway as suspension and shocks are all
over 50 years old if not original. We will be continually working
on the car as it is for sale to progress towards the goal to make
this a dependable local cruise car. The would need to be a deeper
dive into the mechanical system to recommend any long distance
trips.

Fully restored examples command $125k or more. Please be realistic
at this price point as this is the cheapest true Eldorado in the
country that runs and drives.
