The 1977 Toyota Celica GT is powered by the engine that really
helped Toyota become a household name for reliability. The 20R
engine is a 2.2 Liter 4-cylinder putting out 96 HP and 120 lb ft of
torque. That isn't a lot a power, but it's plenty for a car
weighing around 2,500 pounds.
This example is painted in a gorgeous Silver with rear louvers and
classic rally style wheels. Radial tires and power front disc
brakes make this a great driver!
The interior is stock black vinyl with bucket seats and a center
console. An AM/FM radio is in the dash along with a tachometer and
Celica emblem near the glovebox. The interior is in very good shape
throughout, as is the truck. Raise up the LiftBack and you'll see
plenty of storage space in a nicely carpeted compartment.
This Celica does have factory A/C, but it is not blowing cold. It
is hard to find these Celica GTs in unmolested condition like this
example. This car is a nice driver, that with some tinkering could
easily be a show car. The bumpers need to be aligned, the A/C
repaired, and possibly paint the wheels to take it to the next
level. Or drive and enjoy it as it sits! These cars have been
climbing in value as people realize how reliable, easy to work on,
and affordable they are!
