This is clearly one of the nicest Mustangs we have had for sale in the past decade! The paint is great, the interior is exceptional, mechanically it appears flawless and it drives—literally—like a new car because it is.
The current owner was told when he bought the car over 24 years ago with 10,453 miles that it had been stored along with other exceptional vehicles by a then-deceased auto dealer where they sat in his warehouse for some 10+ years. This Mustang was then resurrected, made roadworthy, and finally offered for sale by a Cedar Rapids, Iowa dealer.
This Mustang came from the dealer repainted in its original Ford Bright Red with a white vinyl top. The body is free of dents or dings and the paint looks almost new.
The chrome trim is in excellent condition, and all of the windows are in very good condition and operate correctly.
As would be expected with such a top-quality car, the body appears free of any corrosion issues other than surface rust on the car’s underside.
The white vinyl interior upholstery is in good condition with no signs of fading, staining, splitting or tears, and is an excellent complement to the red/white exterior.
The black dash pad is in excellent condition. All of the engine/systems monitoring gauges (temperature, amp, fuel and oil pressure) look as new and appear to be working properly. Similarly, the speedometer works, as does all of the safety equipment (lights, horn, wipers, seat belts, etc.).
The car’s 302 cid V-8-cylinder engine is strong and peppy. The engine starts right up and runs well, providing all the thrill that these “pony” coupes are famous for.
The three-speed automatic transmission operates smoothly, making driving in traffic a breeze.
The car’s brakes—discs up front—stop the car quickly without pulling to either side. The wheels have the original-style hubcaps and are mounted with radial tires.
