Description:
This 1962 Dodge Dart two-door sedan was modified under prior
ownership by Mosher's Mopars of Monrovia, California, and it is
powered by a 413ci Max Wedge V8 linked with a three-speed manual
transmission and a rear axle with 3.90:1 gears. The car is finished
in red over gray vinyl upholstery, and other features include a
raised front suspension, staggered-diameter body-color steel
wheels, hubcaps, Stewart-Warner auxiliary instrumentation, a Hurst
shifter, Doug's Headers fender-exit exhaust headers, exhaust
cutouts, Flowmaster mufflers, and a cross-ram intake manifold
topped with two four-barrel carburetors.
Interior:
The cabin features front and rear bench seats trimmed in gray vinyl
upholstery with patterned inserts complemented by a
color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Details
include a glovebox, vent windows, and a Hurst shifter with an
accordion-style rubber boot. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a
sweeping 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. Stewart-Warner
gauges displaying coolant temperature and oil pressure are located
beneath the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows
51k miles. True mileage is unknown, and the speedometer is
inoperative.
Exterior:
The car is finished in red, and features include a driver-side
mirror, Dart badging, quad headlights, bright exterior trim, chrome
bumpers, and a dealer-style Mosher's Monrovia tail-panel emblem.
Paint imperfections on the trunk lid are pointed out in the
accompanying video.
Drivetrain:
A 413ci Max Wedge V8 was fitted in place of the factory slant-six
engine under prior ownership and features a cross-ram intake
manifold topped with two four-barrel Carter carburetors as well as
Doug's Headers fender-exit exhaust headers and Ramcharger
413-branded valve covers. Engine castings are shown in the photo
gallery. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed
manual transmission and a rear axle with 3.90:1 gears. The dual
exhaust system has cutouts just behind the front wheels as well as
longer sections that terminate before the rear axle and have
Flowmaster mufflers. Red steel wheels wear bright metal hubcaps and
are mounted with 6.00-16? BFGoodrich Silvertown front tires and
8.20-15? Radir Dragster pie-crust rear rubber. The car has been
fitted with a raised front suspension, and braking is handled by
unassisted drums at all four corners. Rear hubcaps are included in
the sale and pictured in the gallery.
