Vehicle Description
This 2006 Cadillac XLR V is the kind of car that you wished you
took home back during the few years it was available from GM. So if
you think it was a missed opportunity to have a supercharged V8
folding-hardtop luxury machine in your life, this well-kept and
ultra-low mileage example is a fleeting second chance.
This was the debut model year for the ultra-hot V version of the
XLR, and so this really helped launch a legend. That's likely why
this two-owner car has spent most of its life thus far in a private
collection and has only averaged about 400 miles annually. The
factory Infrared paint has a deep shine to show off the design's
crisp edges, and at the same time, it has the aggressive look you
want in a 440+ horsepower machine. Plus, it really brings out the
silver/chrome specific V-sport elements like the mesh grille, quad
exhaust tips, and the exclusive 19-inch wheels. We also like this
paint because it reflects exactly what the V-Series XLR was all
about. The red reflects the aggressive speed, but it's a deeper
tone that suggests a more refined sense of style. And the
jewel-like metallic element is a nicely engineered touch that
reminds you they did some nice tricks with this sports car. After
all, it looks like a grand touring coupe when the roof is in place,
and it also folds away with zero trace like a clean-line
roadster.
When the mileage is this low, the full interior has a beautiful
factory style that's bright, clean, and ultra-luxurious. It starts
with a terrific set of bucket seats. Cadillac was really thinking
about its customers because details like the suede inserts within
the leather mean never having to think about hopping in while
wearing shorts. These seats are also power adjustable to make sure
they strike the ideal balance between all-day comfort and keeping
you secure during spirited driving. As the top-of-the-line
Cadillac, this came with all the best features, including wood
trim, keyless entry/alarm, keyless ignition, power windows, power
locks, power steering, dual front airbags, side airbags, ABS,
cruise control, and head-up display. The infotainment system
controls everything from satellite navigation to the AM/FM/CD/XM
Bose premium stereo. All your essential controls are at your
fingertips right on the leather-wrapped steering wheel. Best of
all, the dual-zone automatic A/C climate control and heated seats
mean you and your passenger can dial-in an individual level of
comfort while enjoying top-down motoring nearly all year long.
While this is an impressive mix of luxury and sports car style,
it's the engineering under the skin that really makes the XLR V
awesome. This Caddy was made alongside the C6 Corvette, and it got
to choose what it did and didn't want to use. So rather than
utilize the LS2 motor, Cadillac supercharged its 4.4-liter
Northstar DOHC V8. The result was a super-smooth powerhouse with
over ten percent more horsepower (443 hp) than the standard C6 on
sale at the same time. However, Cadillac did utilize the Corvette's
half-century of sport car chassis engineering to make sure it has a
tight-handling package. In fact, while the premium Magnetic Ride
Control was a true triumph for the Corvette, It found an even
better home in this XLR V where this true sports car could also be
dialed in to still be grand touring comfortable. Add in a six-speed
automatic transmission, a drilled four-wheel disc brake package,
and grippy Pirelli tires, and we bet you won't be able to resist
adding to the low odometer.
Complete with the owner's manual, this modern collectible even has
a desirable history of spending a dozen years with its first owner
in Beverly Hills, California, and then the last few in the big sky
country of Texas. So it was in dryer climates and places known for
taking care of their cars. That's why this is likely the closest
you'll ever be able to come to turning your garage into a Cadillac
showroom. So if you want a second chance at an awesome legend, this
is the one. Call today!!!
