We will start off with the exterior of this Pick Up. When you walk
around it you can easily see how well it has been cared for over
the course of its life. This truck has been with the same owner
here in TN for the past 23 years prior to us purchasing it. All the
panels have a great fit and we can see the body lines are very nice
as well. The fenders and running boards are all in great condition
as well. This truck is showcased in the dark green paint that has
been kept polished to a beautiful finish that's slick as a ribbon.
We can see that the bed as all solid as well and that the wood was
replaced along with the stainless strips at the time of the
restoration. Both the front and rear bumpers were replaced at the
time of the restoration as well. The rest of the trim is all in
great condition with a brilliant finish. To finish off the stance
it's sitting on the 8 Lug Steel Wheels with new Beauty Rings and
Center Caps.
Next, we will look at the interior of this 3600. On the inside it
has all been freshened up as well. It's done in the dark great
color scheme that is accented by the Black Bench seat that has been
redone. It has had the door panels redone along with all new rubber
mat installed. It's got standard crank windows that go up and down
with ease and this year model also features the vent window option.
The headliner was redone in this '51 and it is also done in dark
green. Looking at the dash we can see that it was redone at the
same time as the restoration as it is paint in the matching body
color. Both gauges are very nice, and it has had a set of Temp,
Oil, and Amp gauges added under the dash. This truck retains the
factory styled steering wheel, three on the tree manual shifter,
and the factory style step pedal to start.
Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevrolet. Under the
hood we can see that it has been kept very close to the original
with all the inner fenders and firewall being solid and very well
cared for. It still carries the 6-volt system as well. The engine
is a '53 Model 235 Inline 6 that features the 3701887 Head with the
two Bolt Valve cover. It has the standard intake and the Rochester
1 Barrel Carb. The 235 is mated to the 3 Speed Manual Transmission
that goes out back to the upgraded 12 Bolt Rear End. This truck is
set up with drum brakes on all four corners along with having the
stock style suspension under the front. New shocks were added and
on the road this truck is a great little cruiser around town. Don't
miss this quality-built truck that's ready to enjoy!
