Factory Lightweight race car driven by NHRA legend Dick Brannan in
1963 & 1964 sponsored by Romy Hammes Ford - This car was the most
successful racing Galaxie ever campaigned, racking up over 20 event
wins and becoming the first Ford to hold an NHRA record in the
Super Stock Class - Built by Jim Fairbarn who was a member of
Brannan's crew when the original car was raced & worked closely
with other Ford drag race legends such as Bob Glidden - Original X
code car with correct '66' Galaxie 500 fastback body designation -
Professional restoration completed on a very rust-free and straight
body - Correct factory lightweight fiberglass body panels including
the hood, fenders, deck lid & bumpers as found on the factory race
cars - Retains original floors, rockers & quarter panels - Powered
by a correct 427 cubic inch FE side oiler V8 with 425 HP - Correct
aluminum medium-rise racing intake manifold - Correct dual 4-barrel
600 cfm R-code Holley race carburetors - Correct oval racing air
cleaner with '427 Eagle' emblem - Rebuilt top loader 4-speed

Racing dump pipes at the headers that can be uncapped when you want

Original Ford steel wheels dated 1963 that have been chromed and
widened in the rear - Period correct tires sourced from Coker all
the way around with M&H cheater slicks in the rear - Will come
with spare grille with holes in it for racing air intakes - Diecast
1/18 scale model of the car included There are several components
on this car that were used on Dick Brannan's original car that only
someone intimately familiar with it would know about including: -
Brannan designed clutch mechanism on the clutch arm that would lock
the clutch so it could be side stepped when launching - Auxiliary
electric fuel pump that could be activated for extra power at the
top end of the 1/4 mile via a switch under the dash - A front
steering bar from a 1937 Ford that was welded in from the front
passenger seat area to the rear axle to eliminate wheel hop on the
right rear wheel which was a problem on the Galaxie race cars With
Mopar Max Wedge cars dominating NHRA drag strips across the
country, Ford was looking for an answer. In 1963 they developed the
Galaxie 500 with a Nascar-inspired fastback body style that was
released as a mid-year 1963.5 model. Rule changes for the 1963
season capped displacement at 427 cubic inches and Ford took full
advantage, releasing the mighty dual quad 427 FE engine which was
dropped into the Galaxie 500 body style for racing purposes.
Incorporating many methods to achieve lighter weight, these cars
immediately made an impact in competition. Only 212 of these
special cars were produced & the most successful of them all was
