Vehicle Description
Looking for a fun short-wheelbase 4x4 that's affordable and loaded?
This 1989 Ford Bronco II was given some nice recent investments to
ensure it retains the right distinction and ability, and it's all
offered for quite a nice price.
The Bronco II is a favorite of the off-road crowd because it
combines a Jeep-like wheelbase with a fully enclosed body that's
fashionable in the city or out on the trail. Owning a later Bronco
II has added distinction. It has the front fascia that was shared
with the first-generation premium Ford Explorer. And while there
was a two-door version of that vehicle, the top-wrapping side
glass, and squared-off 4x4 stance give this one a style all of its
own (it's almost like this is the rare, extra-capable Explorer.)
While that's already quite distinct, this one has even more to its
story. It's believed to have had only three owners in the last 35
years. So it has been treated with added respect where details like
the bold red and white two-tone paint are believed to be the
factory application... but the shine is particularly impressive
because there was an investment in a ceramic coating within the
last few years. Some other minor upgrades, like bright 15-inch
alloys and coordinating bright fender flares. Other pieces add to
your appreciation of a fundamentally nice classic, like the newer
headlights, windshield, and tailgate weather-stripping. It makes
for a total impression that's certainly vintage and respected.
Inside, the long options list proves an off-roader can be rugged
and sophisticated. The red cloth interior is both bold, comfy, and
clean. It's extra comfortable for the driver thanks to bucket
seats, a cup holder, and a center console. This Bronco has factory
options like power windows, power locks, cruise control, and
cold-blowing air conditioning. The stereo is now an upgraded
AM/FM/CD unit for upgraded driving music. And a keyless entry for
the power locks is recently added.
These Broncos have a great off-road reputation because they combine
a compact wheelbase with good ground clearance. And the later ones
received the best motor in the series: a fuel-injected 2.9-liter
V6. But if this one looks a little cleaner than most, it's a Jasper
replacement motor. That means a strong and fresher powerhouse with
the added torque to pull you up the hill. Plus, this comes with a
shift on the fly electronic transfer case. This is an especially
handy feature because when a four-wheel drive is suddenly needed,
it's usually not when you want to go outside. While this sounds
like your perfect off-road toy, this Bronco is also equipped to be
a cruiser. The five-speed manual transmission allows you to cruise
in overdrive comfort, and extra passing power is only a downshift
away. Add in power steering, power brakes, and front discs, and you
will soon see how this is a great all-around SUV.
The sale includes the original warranty card, owner's manual,
service manuals, and maintenance records. Now that the new Bronco
Sport is here, these Bronco IIs are becoming a true in-demand
classic. So grab a great one while you still can. Call now!
