Vehicle Description
You instantly know there's something different about this 1968 Ford
F-100. And while this has a cool slammed style with a hint of shop
truck attitude, what you might just love the best is how this is a
full restomod with an upgraded suspension, four-wheel disc brakes,
and a five-speed. Oh yeah, we also forgot to mention that there's a
7.3-liter fuel-injected Godzilla motor lurking under the hood!
We could say the upper-trim truck with its hood ornament,
pinstripes, bed rails, and full-length trim shows off the premium
look of a Ranger trim, but this truck is not out to impress you
with high society. It's sitting down low. This truck is slammed to
the ground with the confident stance of a powerful street machine
(and you already know exactly why.) In fact, we love the full
confidence of this truck. The paint is said to be a 20-year-old
respray of the factory-correct Harbor Blue, and so it has matured
into a shop truck kind of vibe that's approaching patina. The way
the body looks so well-respected, it looks ready for a high-gloss
respray if you were looking for a Word of Wheels kind of custom.
But really, we just like the look of grandpa's respected truck
that's also carrying the heart of a monster.
The interior gives you more of that fun classic style with details
like the simple door panels and the textured bench seat. There are
nice additions, like the plush carpeting, a smooth dash pad, good
headliner inserts, and provisions for an under-dash A/C unit (it's
a new piece, but it will need servicing.) And there are even power
windows, but they are attached to the classic handles. So nothing
here really betrays the classic truck vibe. Only the driver
understands how upgraded this is when you see features like the
full upgraded gauge package in the factory housing, tilt steering
column, and count the gears on the shifter.
Under the hood is one of Ford's newest and meanest powerhouses.
It's the 7.3-liter fuel-injected V8 that was called Godzilla for a
very good reason. This displacement is larger than any other gas or
diesel powerhouse in the current Super Duty lineup. We love the
clean modern setup that looks tidy, fresh, and has good additions
like the aluminum radiator with twin electric fans. This powerhouse
became an instant favorite of the gasoline hauler community, and in
an F-100 truck of this size and weight, it really hauls. And you
get to harness all that power thanks to the Tremec TKX five-speed
manual transmission. The full package was built to be an awesome
driver, and so the undercarriage photos show off some terrific
upgrades. You get a beefy last-gen Crown Vic independent front
suspension, an SS Chassis Worx four-link rear, and QA1 adjustable
coilovers all around. There's also power steering, grippy ZR-rated
tires, and four-wheel power disc brakes to give this pickup
superior handling.
Godzilla knew how to take down a whole city, and we bet you have a
similar plan for this semi-sleeper Godzilla F-100. It's such an
awesome restomod that you know it's the monster of your dreams.
